Dr. Gary McClain has launched a major redesign of his Website, JustGotDiagnosed.com. A specialist in the emotional impact of chronic and catastrophic illnesses, Gary McClain, PhD, developed JustGotDiagnosed.com to address a serious need he saw going unfulfilled; namely, a way for newly-diagnosed patients to receive help in coping with their emotional reactions to their diagnosis. Dr. McClain discussed his goals for the redesign of JustGotDiagnosed.com. My primary reason for the redesign was to move my site to the WordPress content management system, to make it easier for me to keep my site up to date. But it seemed like a good time to freshen up the design as well. I have learned a lot about what I want to accomplish with my site since I first launched it in 2007, and the redesign reflects where I want to take the site in the future.
It really helped to have a great development partner, Bryan Hoffman of Spigot Design. He did an incredible job of coming up with a new homepage design, and we worked together from there. It was an enjoyable collaboration and I am thrilled with the results.
