Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 24, 2012
MailChimp today announced the creation of a new integration fund specifically for eCommerce shopping carts. The goal of the fund is to support deeper integrations with all of the top shopping cart systems and specifically to support MailChimps eCommerce360 order tracking solution. At the present time there are over 50 integrations provided by 3rd parties that connect MailChimp with popular shopping cart systems such as Magento and Shopify. The goal of this fund is to expand the number of shopping carts covered and to ensure that they all include support for order tracking.
eCommerce is a rapidly growing customer segment at MailChimp. These subscribers are serious about email and use MailChimps analytics to understand customer behavior and segmentation to better target their audience preferences. MailChimps eCommerce360 order tracking feature is a powerful tool for eCommerce customers to identify specific purchases made by individual shoppers as well as track aggregate category purchases over time or from a specific campaign. With eCommerce360 MailChimp customers get a true ROI calculation along with a detailed listing of individual orders.
To get started, MailChimp customers using eCommerce360 can upload existing orders to their MailChimp account. When they send their first MailChimp campaign they can access their previous purchase history to make segmentation decisions. Once a MailChimp customer starts sending campaigns with eCommerce360 enabled, the new purchase data will automatically be added to their MailChimp account. The eCommerce360 plugin allows merchants to track individual purchases including the product name, category, SKU, order date, and shipping costs.
Currently there are plugins that fully support eCommerce360 for Shopify, Magento, Miva Merchant, X-Cart, Drupal and osCommerce. Visit the MailChimp knowledge base for additional information about the eCommerce360 feature.
Developers can apply for the new integration fund here: http://mailchimp.com/about/integration-fund/.
Priority will be given to the most popular shopping cart systems. Proposals ideally should include relevant previous experience working with both the shopping cart application and MailChimp.
