A new kickstarter campaign, TemplateArchitect, was recently launched to address the challenges of personalizing the look and feel of popular CMS and e-commerce applications. Currently, anyone wishing to customize the design of their site are restricted by the need to know the underlying code each software is using . Even a simple change in the color of the background requires that you be familiar with some programming, let alone revamping the entire site design. Some people get around this problem by buying a pre-made design . But, this still leaves them limited to what is available for sale which may not exactly be what they are looking for .
TemplateArchitect aims to change all that. TemplateArchitect is an online tool developed to make it simple for anyone to create sophisticated templates and skins that can be easily plugged into existing popular software . It is a templating system to build the site design and dynamically produce templates that can simply be downloaded for use on the software platform of choice. Initially, TemplateArchitect plans to create templates for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, AbanteCart, Magento, Zencart, Opencart ; with the intention of adding more applications as the platform grows.
TemplateArchitect is targeted for beta release beginning of 2013 and is expected to be in full production in the first quarter of 2013 . In order to make this a reality, the TemplateArchitect team is trying to raise funding for the project.
