New York and Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) October 25, 2011

The 100 finalists of the 2011 Small Business Influencer initiative were honored in New York City on September 13, 2011 at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway. Out of 520 applicants, the finalists, called Champions, were chosen by community voting as well as a panel of small-business judges.

The Champions are business owners, authors, speakers, bloggers and thought leaders. They come from a wide background: from solopreneurs to corporate executives. But they have one thing in common: supporting small businesses. Through the voting period, more than 125,000 votes were cast by the small business community.

The Awards event in New York City drew over 220 guests. Champions were recognized with a crystal award, acknowledgement of their achievements, and an evening of networking with their peers.

These days, its even more important for small businesses to have resources and support, said Anita Campbell, CEO of Small Business Trends and co-founder of the Small Business Influencer Awards, We wanted to recognize those companies and individuals who are helping small businesses succeed on every level.
