Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) January 26, 2006
Performancing (http://performancing.com), an organization dedicated to building the world’s largest community of professional bloggers, today announced the latest release of Performancing for Firefox v.1.1. Performancing for Firefox is a full-featured blog editor that integrates with many popular blogging platforms, including WordPress, MovableType and Blogger. Since the introduction of the beta version of this new blogging tool in December 2005, Performancing for Firefox has inspired hundreds of positive reviews and blog posts and more than 25,000 downloads.
The new version of Performancing for Firefox includes full integration with Technorati, the leader in tracking whos saying what on the web right now, and del.icio.us, a social bookmarking, social software web service for storing and sharing web bookmarks. The initial beta version of Performancing for Firefox featured the ability for bloggers to post to their blogs from a split screen within the Firefox browser, drag-and-drop functionality and a “notes” tab for easier and more efficient blogging. Performancing for Firefox v.1.1 includes many significant upgrades to the beta version. The most recent release of Performancing for Firefox features new tabs that show information about the page currently being browsed from Technorati and del.icio.us and the ability to navigate directly to this tab from the context menu.
The new Technorati tab shows:
“Blogs linking to this page”
Technorati tags for the page
Technorati Search box
Links to the query on Technorati with its “Powered by” icon
The new del.icio.us tab displays:
Full API implementation, including ability to search tags of users’ blog posts, other blogs tags, tag posts, etc.
Tickbox that allows blogger to add Technorati tags to a post and bookmark at del.icio.us using the same tags
In addition, Performancing for Firefox v.1.1 provides bloggers with the ability to designate their posts as drafts and a setting that easily allows bloggers to publish as draft as the default behavior.
With the introduction of the latest Performancing for Firefox, bloggers are now able to more simply integrate their work with the useful blogger services we offer through Technorati, said David Sifry, founder and CEO of Technorati, Inc.
With this new release of Performancing for Firefox we leave the beta phase. There are still a lot of features we’d like to add, but right now, we’re very happy to launch a great extension for Firefox that brings blogging directly into the browser, said Nick Wilson, founder of Performancing.
