MailChimp Announces Integration With Orchard CMS

MailChimp today announced the integration of Orchard CMS, providing an easy path for site owners to support email signups and build their lists. Emails are a natural tie in to CMSs and publishing, providing an excellent path for publishers to continue the conversation with their readers after they have left the website.

UK-based start-up, Pianola, developed the Mailchimp sign-up form module and recently released it to the Orchard CMS community. Orchard is new open-source content management system developed by a team at Microsoft to run on ASP.NET MVC.

Ive really enjoyed working with ASP.NET MVC since it came out,” Pianola lead developer Richard Garside said. When I heard it was at the heart of Orchard, Microsofts new Open Source CMS, I wanted to be involved early on. A really nice community of people have built up around Orchard and its good to play a small part by contributing modules to the project. The MailChimp module will help us, but its also great to be able to share it with others too.

Founder and CEO of Pianola, James Ward said: Were big fans of Mailchimps capabilities so the decision to use the service to build our list was a no-brainer. Our coming soon site is built using Orchard. Rather than hard code the sign-up form straight into our site we decided to create it as a reusable module and release it to the community so that others could integrate Mailchimp easily into their own Orchard sites too.

Pianola is a new online application providing smart tools for bridge club managers and players. It allows managers to maintain their membership list synchronized in one place, publish results online, easily upload play data to their national bridge organization in just a couple of clicks, issue membership renewals and keep accounts.

Players can use Pianola to find partners, record, track and analyze their performance in their own personalized history, and share, compare and discuss their game with other players online.
