Matt Mullenweg Discusses Vaultpress, Version 3.0 & Site Redesign in Exclusive 2-Part WordPress Community Podcast

Matt Mullenweg, the co-founding developer behind the open source WordPress blogging platform, will be featured in a 2-part interview for the WordPress Community Podcast starting Tuesday August 10th at 5pm Eastern/ 2pm Pacific, and concluding at the same scheduled time on Tuesday August 17th .

Mullenweg will discuss the launch of VaultPress, a subscription-based protection, security and backup service for WordPress blogs and sites.

When asked about why VaultPress is only being offered in private beta in initially, Mullenweg stated, “It’s always one user at a time… That’s why we’re rolling out VaultPress in the way we’re doing it with invite only. I know that if we opened up the invites we’d get a few thousand sign ups tomorrow. But I don’t want a few thousand customers; I want a few hundred so we can talk to each one. So we can see how they’re using it and what the problems are… and really cultivate and grow the product.

Mullenweg will also discuss how the parent company of WordPress, Automattic, plans to redesign the main WordPress Site (http://www.wordpress.org). Mullenweg says, Something I’ve been working in the past few weeks is the homepage of WordPress.org, and tweaking that to talk about what people can really do with it!”

Mullenweg will also discuss how future WordPress platforms will no longer support
