Father and son Star Mazda drivers Dan Tomlin Jr. and Dan Tomlin III (http://www.teamtomlin.com) will appear this week at Sebring International Raceway for the latest round of the 2007 Star Mazda Championship series, presented by Goodyear.
The Star Mazda series was developed to drive new racing talent by providing an opportunity for the maximum amount of drivers to compete on the same race tracks that are used for major league events. The cars have been designed to have the same adjustments found on most expensive cars, and the series has been administered to encourage top performers with speed and consistency.
The motors are all built by one engine builder, and each is certified to produce the prescribed power, and discourage tampering. Racers typically go years between rebuilds. There are currently over 300 cars in the field.
After Sebring, the Star Mazda Series will continue in the following cities:
Houston, April 21-22
Elton, Virginia, April 27-28
Toole, Utah, May 18-19
