Podango Acquires Gigavox Audio Lite From Gigavox Media

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) September 25, 2007

Podango (http://podango.com), the online video and audio network that enables publishers and companies to “get heard” by today’s hard-to-reach, niche audiences, announced today that it has acquired the GigaVox Audio Lite technology from GigaVox Media. Deal terms were undisclosed.

Podango will incorporate GigaVox Audio Lite features and capabilities into its P2 podcasting platform, enabling publishers to automate component show assembly and improve post-production management. Podango publishers will be able to easily organize segments of a show, swap out segments from previously released shows and reuse segments (intros, credits, etc.) in future programs with the click of a mouse.

Lee Gibbons, CEO of Podango, said, “Our acquisition of the Gigavox Audio Lite technology reflects our commitment to delivering industry-leading tools to audio and video publishers who have made Podango the leading platform for hosting popular, episodic audio and video podcasts.”

Michael Geoghegan, CEO of GigaVox Media added, “We are delighted that Podango recognized the value of the technology we developed. Their decision to acquire it outright and integrate into their Podango P2 platform gives them a decisive competitive advantage.”

Jason Van Orden, Podcasting Author and Consultant, explains, “I use GigaVox Audio Lite in my consulting practice and teach its use in my new Podcasting course. This is a great tool for podcasters. It typically cuts the time to publish a new episode in half. The addition of GigaVox Audio Lite and WordPress support to Podango’s P2 platform offers great value to podcasters.”

Podango lets podcasters host and manage their own podcast stations using the company’s hosting, syndication, audience measurement and Web site creation tools. The company also offers publishers an embeddable podcast player for use in websites. Hosting their shows at Podango for free, podcasters who publish stand-alone shows or participate in Podango stations earn income by sharing advertising revenue from the aggregate of Podango-hosted stations. Podango also owns and operates a state-of-the-art production studio in the Bay Area.

Though the GigaVox Audio Lite beta is closed for new customers, Podango will continue to support existing customers through the transition period. The beta program will open again once the integration with the P2 platform is complete.
