The latest episode of attack from Internet villains involved the spreading of malware to vulnerable WordPress sites with the intention of spreading an information-stealing botnet agent. Despite this issue, many bloggers and web designers still agree that WordPress is the blog content management system (CMS) of choice. Startingablog.com continues to endorse it albeit the recent negative association with the popular yet lately beleaguered CMS.
You should use WordPress to make your website or blog, Startingablog.com advises. It accounts for over 25% of new websites on the internet and the majority of self-hosted blogs. WordPress is an open source CMS, which has endeared itself to many a blogger and web developer for its ease of use. As of the middle of 2011, about 15 million websites all over the Internet were powered by WordPress. It started out as a blogging platform, but nowadays, its so flexible and adaptable that it can be used for any kind of site.
The security issue that has just plagued some WordPress sites can be attributed to the site owners themselves. Once upon a time, any security breach could be blamed on the platform itself, but in cases of hacked sites nowadays, the fault is with the administrator or the owner. These days, systems and platforms are so user-friendly that anybody can learn to start and maintain a blog or website. For this reason, it is of the utmost importance that beginners learn from trustworthy sites and correct tutorials. With sources that do not bother to include the minute details, site owners and bloggers manage to create vulnerabilities without intending to. Many professional web designers agree that WordPress remains to be better than the rest of the content management systems even after this recent attack.
Those who want to learn how to make a blog will find many sources commending WordPress for being simple to use. Tom Jones of Startingablog.com states, WordPress is great because it allows you to make a blog without having to write any code or do any technical geeky work. Basically it is a click and install system. That is something that many non-techies will find relieving. Plus WordPress is free, Jones adds to the statement, citing another important quality of WordPress that many blogging beginners will find comforting. The Startingablog.com team does what it can to educate its users on WordPress, frequently updating its blog to issue more tips or report on news regarding changes or upgrades.
