“Water supply,” according to Sharon Kleyne, includes not only oceans, lakes and rivers but the water in the air and in the ground.
Mrs. Kleyne has discovered that a drop in the average annual humidity, or an increase in air pollution, can cause dry eye, dry skin, difficulty breathing and even effect the mortality rate. According to Mrs. Kleyne, dehydration symptoms and diseases, caused by what she calls “water starvation,” are becoming a global health crisis.
According to the Wall Street Journal (March 10, 2006, The Structure of Water Isnt Certain After All), “Water is the most abundant substance on Earth and the basis of life. (This) compound, whose structure has been studied (by chemists) for centuries, is now beginning to intrigue researchers once again. The same article states that Stanford University scientists have recommended expanded water research into the physical structure and health benefits of water.
Since the beginning of life on Earth, according to Sharon Kleyne, nature has provided water, the “Breath of Life.” Yet water is too often overlooked as a subject for scientific research. The United States Government, as of 2011, still does not recommend one single glass of water on the official “Nutritional Food Pyramid” (now called the “Food Plate).
Dehydration, Sharon Kleyne has concluded, could be a factor in virtually all disease symptoms. The human body is 80% water, nothing in the body can function without water, and the water must be continually replenished.
Not only has our physical environment become more dehydrating, says Mrs. Kleyne, but few people drink even the minimum recommended eight to ten glasses of water per day. In many parts of the world, eight to ten glasses of clean water are simply not available. Air quality is critical to hydration because skin and eyes obtain a significant percentage of their water by absorption from the air.
Sharon Kleyne has devoted her business life to water. She and her company are committed to water research and health, worldwide public education regarding the need for fresh water, and the development of personal, portable, hand-held water mist devices to humidify dry eyes and dry skin.
