New WordPress Plugin Automatically Integrates Microdata into Content

Miami, FL (PRWEB) November 10, 2011

The much anticipated plugin that allows a large majority of web masters to implement Microdata within their content is now available and free to all WordPress users.

The MicroData plugin developed by Optimum7, programs an intricate HTML5 tag system into an easy to use add-on that will allow users of all levels to optimize their web page for search results just like the search engines want it.

After Google, Yahoo! and Bing established schema.org on June 2, 2011 revealing the preferred format for improving a sites search results, web developers and internet marketers have been figuring out a way to effectively use the markup language, a task that is not only complex but also time-consuming.

A comment posted on a MicroData article published by Optimum7 stated: I am trying to implement this on my site and am failing miserably at it. When I think I have it and I use the rich snippets tool, it says I am missing some data, so I will just leave it. This is great news for those of us not savvy enough to manually implement the new changes.

Recently, the big three search engines collaborated in developing this set of agreed-upon schemas to help site owners improve how their sites appear in search results, much like the agreed-upon sitemaps in 2006.

The implications of using MicroData for search engine optimization are clear; without it, you are not going to be as visible or as easy to crawl as the other sites that are using it. This is a must-use format, especially as it becomes more difficult to rank high in search engine results pages, comments Duran Inci, COO of Optimum7.

The first version of the MicroData plugin is available to download from the WordPress directory. Users will be able to select from six default schemas: event, person, organization, review, place and product. Customer support by Optimum7 is also available to answer questions and receive feedback.

This is a huge game changer; similar to what Microsoft Excel was in the 1990s. Inci says. Imagine the millions of pages, articles, videos, sites, comments, reviews, tweets, that search engines have to crawl through. Microdata organizes all this content and delivers it in the perfect format for search engines to crawl faster and more often.

Schema Creator WordPress Plugin Creates Accurate Microdata Markup for Bloggers, Developers

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) August 23, 2012

Structured data isnt easy for humans to understand or to implement on a website, but its easy for machines to read.

Google, Bing, Yahoo! and other major search engines rely on it to present better search results, and they have endorsed schema.org as the proper markup vocabulary to use. This affects everyone from SEOs to bloggers to webmasters, who need to add schema markup to their content to improve its visibility in search results.

To make things easier, Raven Internet Marketing Tools has released the Schema Creator WordPress plugin, now available for free in the WordPress Plugin Directory.

The plugin has several features, including:

Automatically creates properly formatted schema.org microdata
Uses WordPress shortcode to keep the schema data from breaking in the Visual editor
Enables users to easily edit schemas they have already created
Provides unique CSS classes and IDs to enable users to customize the style of the microdata

Raven believes strongly in making complicated things simple, said Jon Henshaw, Ravens chief product officer. Despite its complexity, structured data is important to the future of the Internet and search engine optimization. The Schema Creator WordPress plugin made sense for us to build.

The plugin complements Ravens free Schema-Creator.org website, which generates code for more than a half dozen popular schemas. Since its release last July, thousands have used it to create properly formatted schema code.

One of those developers was Andrew Norcross, president of Reaktiv Studios, who also collaborated with Raven on the Schema Creator WordPress plugin.

Having known and worked with the team at Raven in the past, I was excited to collaborate on this project, due to their attention to detail and willingness to participate in the open source community, Norcross said. For this project in particular, Im glad I was able to help take a complicated ideastructured dataand make something that allows folks to easily implement it on their own.

The plugin was reviewed by Brian Krogsgard of WPCandy.com, a WordPress community.

I personally find manually generating my schema data to be a pain. Im always having to consult the official schema documentation and double checking that I havent made any markup errors, he wrote. So this plugin is quite handy for me. Im sure Im not alone.
