http://www.islandreal.com received a new website design on the popular WordPress platform and added Blizzards advanced Blizzard Reservation Engine (BRE) to manage the hundreds of vacation homes and real estate offerings. Island Real Estate enjoys a long and successful relationship with Rental Network Software (RNS) and it was critical the website and booking engine leverage the data in the RNS platform to build an advanced website. Blizzard collaborated with RNS and utilized its API to offer real-time booking within a search engine optimized version of WordPress. This allows the vacation rental manager to use RNS to manage their inventory, pricing, photos and specials which automatically updates their WordPress driven website.

Tactics

Blizzard combined Island Real Estates website, blog, booking engine, real estate and long-term rentals into one comprehensive platform. WordPress allows the Island Real Estate team to update any page of their website within minutes. The Blizzard Reservation Engine automatically updates all availability and pricing data for their inventory. The resulting website is both content rich and highly usable: two factors that have caused their website to garner dramatically more traffic and radically increase their revenue. Two rapid growing visitor segments were targeted by making the booking engine integrate into Facebook and offering a friendly mobile version.

Results

The results in the first three months after the website was released are impressive. Comparing the months of March, April and May from 2011 to 2012, http://www.islandreal.com has enjoyed a 56% increase in unique visitors as well as a 51% increase in revenue dollars and a 52% increase in organic traffic from Google during this same time period from 2011 to 2012.
