Canadians Taking Action on Oral Health in Peru with Kindness in Action

Vancouver, British Columbia (Vocus/PRWEB) January 31, 2011

Kindness in Action announced that it will be returning to Peru this February in an effort to promote oral health to poverty stricken communities. A group of 15 dental professionals, volunteers and students, led by world renowned periodontist, Dr. Veronique Benhamou, will embark on a two week expedition to some of the most remote regions of the country. This group, based out of McGill University, has made numerous excursions to Latin America, relieving the pain of thousands of patients.

Kindness in Action was founded in 1993, and since its creation has performed dental work in six countries throughout Central and South America. In 2011, due to generous donations from Ondine Biomedical, Periowave Dental Technologies and other sponsors, Kindness in Action will be able to send 13 different teams to areas in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru, Columbia, Guatemala, and Ecuador. “As Canadians, we are very proud of Dr. Benhamou and her fabulous team from McGill University.” said Carolyn Cross, Chairman and CEO of Ondine Biomedical Inc. “The goodwill established by this small group on behalf of Canada and McGill University is tremendous and we are very happy to play a role in this mission of Kindness In Action.”

The overall goal of our program is to relieve oral pain and infections for all of our patients, says Kindness in Action veteran Thomas Masterson. For many of our patients this is the first time that they have ever seen a dentist, or even people of different ethnic backgrounds. It can be a shocking cultural experience for everyone involved; both enormously rewarding and enlightening, the kind of thing that makes you appreciate everything you have in a country like Canada.

This year Kindness in Action will be taking new and improved technologies to Peru such as Periowave, a revolutionary dental tool that will fight infection, alleviate pain and reduce inflammation for those suffering from gum disease. Despite the advances in technologies Kindness in Action members can expect to work 10 hour days, sometimes in extreme heat and humidity, said Masterson. This year, we hope to see about one hundred patients a day, and it is our goal to have treated over 1,500 patients in two weeks.

Action Hardware the UK Audio Video Parts and Connectors Wholesale Supplier to the Pro Audio Industry Has Had a New Website Design

(PRWEB) March 30, 2012

A new website design and social networking strategy for UK AV parts and Connectors wholesale Supplier has gone live.

Action Hardware the UK AV parts and Connectors wholesale supplier to the Pro Audio industry has had a new website design.

The redesign comes after months of planning and the new design is hoped to attract more visitors from across Europe.

The UK AV parts supplier launched a new printed catalog in 2011 whilst attending the Pro Audio Video show and whilst a print catalog could be seen as old fashioned the company had already planned a new website. Bringing the old website up to speed and socialising online through social networks was the number one priority for 2012. Action Hardware have been supplying AV Installer Products, OEM Components and Switchcraft Pro-Audio Tools for over 25 years and this is all very new for this industry.

In the past the B2B environment of the Audio Video industry has not involved much use of internet technology and that includes having a functional website.

Yet with the Pro Audio manufacturers Switchcraft Audio using facebook the game has changed. Seen as a new way to engage with customers and fans the Switchcraft is clearly visible on facebook. It only made sense for the UK distributor for Switchcraft to be more visible online.

The old Action Hardware website focused on the online catalog, whereas the new website has been designed to provide more information around the product ranges.

AM Communication led the project with a clear path non technology based strategy. By using existing solutions there was no need to reinvent the wheel. WordPress is an excellent platform for the CMS front-end and the plug-ins available will facilitate being able to provide rich information around the product lines.

Access to the online shop is a big consideration but the priority for Action Hardware is to provide customers with a user experience and high level of customer service first.

During the next 6 month the new website will start to come to life with new content added around the products.

AM Communications provided the website redesign, hosting and marketing for Action Hardware.
