Using the new, freely-available appliances, BitNami users can deploy ready-to-run virtual machine images of applications for CRM, bug tracking, document management, business intelligence and more in minutes.
The BitNami virtual appliances contain a minimal version of the Ubuntu Linux operating system and a fully installed and configured BitNami application stack. Users simply need to download, uncompress and run the appliance of their choice. In minutes, they can be up and running with open source applications such as Drupal, Joomla! WordPress, Alfresco and many others. Development environments for LAMP, Ruby on Rails and Django are also available.

The new BitNami appliances make it easy for people of any skill level to deploy their favorite applications on top of their favorite operating system in a virtual environment.
The Ubuntu-based BitNami virtual appliances will run on the VMWare Player and VirtualBox hypervisors, both of which are available free of charge. Using virtualized instances of the BitNami Stacks enables users to run the applications in an environment completely isolated from the rest of their system. The virtual machine images can be stopped and restarted on demand, so users can run applications only when they need them.
