Food Fete Launches Chocolate-Only Media Event Oct. 30 in San Francisco

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 7, 2007

Food Fete, producers of sponsored press events for specialty food and beverage companies, is branching out to create a new press event focused exclusively on premium chocolates. Known as Food Fete Chocolat, the new event will debut Tuesday, October 30 in San Francisco.

More information and regular updates can be found at http://www.foodfetechocolate.wordpress.com.

In addition to narrowing its focus on the chocolate market, Food Fete Chocolat is introducing an industry buying component that adds a new layer of marketing value for exhibitors. Along with food journalists, Bay Area caterers, food and beverage buyers from hotels, spas and restaurants, chefs, and event and wedding planners also will be invited to meet the chocolatiers and sample new products. Food Fete Chocolat’s October timing also supports short-lead holiday media opportunities and year-end events where chocolate is often a focal point.

Food Fete Chocolat is the latest creation of PR veteran Jeff Davis, who since January 2005 has produced Food Fete press events twice annually in San Francisco and New York City. According to Davis, Food Fete Chocolat signals what could become the first of more market- and product-specific press events to complement his growing event roster. Last month, Davis debuted Peek, a press event for consumer lifestyle products.

“Though we’re launching a category-specific event that includes a focused buyer component, helping companies build media relationships and debut new products is still what Food Fete is all about,” Davis said. “But in bringing together many of the area’s best chocolatiers under one roof, it makes sense to add a business development component that can directly impact exhibitor sales, which is among the overarching goals of most media relations programs.”

Clay Gordon, regarded as one of the country’s most knowledgeable chocolate experts, will be a special guest presenter at Food Fete Chocolat. Gordon will discuss chocolate appreciation, offering tips on how to taste and understand the nuances of fine chocolates originating from around the world. He also will discuss pairing chocolate with wine, spirits and other beverages at the Chocolate Pairings Bar, and will be available to sign his new book, “Discover Chocolate,” which hits bookstores Oct. 18.

Exhibiting and Sponsorships

Chocolate companies interested in showcasing their newest products, as well as beverage companies interested in participating in the Chocolate Pairings Bar should contact Davis at 404-812-0111. Other custom sponsorship opportunities are also available.
