Womans-Health.Net Announces Launch of Unique Online Resource Focusing on Women"s Health Issues few Other Sites Address

Pensacola, FL (PRWEB) January 25, 2006

After spending years suffering from a variety of female related disorders and experimenting with various remedies and therapies, Sandra Clair, a 38 year old researcher, started Womans-Health.Net to share her extensive research with other women.

Women today know that they have difficult health challenges facing them that their predecessors didnt have to deal with. I have made it my goal to address these challenges through this website, Clair says.

Additionally, Clair says her objective is to offer informative holistic information that tackles difficult problems facing womens health today.

Too often, websites aimed at women focus exclusively on beauty, fitness and weight loss. And while these topics are important and we try to cover them as well, women today also want answers to serious questions about their sexual health, breast health, reproductive health and even about the health of men in their lives, says Clair.

This is what makes Womans-Health.Net unique because we offer valuable advice on a full range of issues that matter most to women.

Moreover, WHN offers an enormous amount of expert information on a range of topics including yoga, breast cancer, osteoporosis, and herbal remedies in its sizable network of sites.

Although a new site, WHN is growing rapidly with the addition of articles almost daily and the influx of web visitors anxious to acquire information on health topics which few sites deal with.

A womans health Blog (http://www.womans-health.net/wordpress/) is updated regularly, where women are encouraged to share their health experiences, find support and give advice.

Furthermore, the site offers a weekly Womans Health Newsletter (http://www.womans-health.net/womans-health-newsletter.htm) that visitors can sign up for, which Clair says is crammed with practical and proven health information on nutrition, weight management, herbal remedies, and physical fitness tips that are designed to improve the quality of life for women.

While a proficient writer herself, Clair pens a number of articles on the site but emphasizes that the articles at Womans-Health.Net are written by women for women, which she says is a part of her overall aim to make WHN a unique place on the web.

Clair encourages women to visit the site, read, submit articles and contribute to the health Blog, which she says would be a tremendous opportunity to connect with — and share with — other women.

(PRWEB) July 10, 2012

Recently, USA Payday Forever made further advances with the website design of their payday loan website redesign. However, when they tried to implement it, they saw some major issues. GLSEN Launches Changing the Game: The GLSEN Sports Project to Address LGBT Issues in K-12 Sports

New York, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) March 17, 2011

In an effort to make K-12 sports and physical education safer and more inclusive for all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression, GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, and a diverse coalition of athletes, journalists and sports figures today launch Changing the Game: The GLSEN Sports Project (http://sports.glsen.org).

I am really excited to be working with GLSEN to create a Sports Project that will help to make sports and physical education a great experience for every student no matter what their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression., said GLSEN Sports Project Director Pat Griffin, former Director of It Takes a Team Education Campaign for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Issues in Sport at the Womens Sports Foundation.

The list of Advisory Group and All-Star supporters includes Hall of Fame, Olympic and National Champion athletes, award-winning journalists, former college athletic directors and current professional, college and high school coaches.

Among them: Hall of Fame tennis players Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova; ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com columnist LZ Granderson; Olympic softball medalists Jessica Mendoza and Lauren Lappin; current NFL player Scott Fujita and former NFL player Wade Davis; WNBA player Candice Wiggins; Toronto Maple Leafs President and General Manager Brian Burke; National Center for Lesbian Rights Sports Project Director Helen Carroll; three-time All-American wrestler Hudson Taylor; Outsports.com co-founder Cyd Zeigler; WNBA Coach Lin Dunn; Rugby player Ben Cohen; former MLB player Billy Bean; and former NBA player John Amaechi.

With few existing resources or programs designed to address homophobia and transphobia in K-12 sports, Changing the Game: The GLSEN Sports Project fills a critical gap and adds a vital new dimension to GLSENs work to create a world in which every child learns to accept and respect all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBT youth (84.6%) said theyd experienced harassment in school in the past year because of their sexual orientation and nearly two-thirds (63.7%) because of their gender expression, according to GLSENs 2009 National School Climate Survey. Additionally, 61.1% said they felt unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation.

When asked if there were particular spaces at school they avoided because they felt unsafe or uncomfortable, 35.7% of LGBT student said locker rooms, the highest percentage of any place at school.

GLSEN is committed to the principle that all students should have equal access to the services, supports and opportunities of a K-12 education, GLSEN Executive Director Eliza Byard said. Changing the Game is designed to help schools, coaches, athletes and families create a healthy atmosphere of respect in PE classes and competitive athletics. Sports and PE were a central part of my life growing up, and are critical for student health and well-being. Every child today should have the opportunity to participate fully and safely in every aspect of school life.

GLSEN’s Changing the Game website (http://sports.glsen.org) features a collection of Game Plan resources for athletes, athletic administrators, coaches and parents; a Game Changer video project (YouTube.com/GLSENsports) to raise awareness about people making a difference in the sports world every day; the Team Respect Challenge pledge for teams to commit to treat all teammates with respect. Additional Changing the Game programs will be introduced in the coming months.

The program also will highlight the important work student-athletes already are doing across the country to promote a simple theme that is at the heart of Changing the Game: The GLSEN Sports Project.

Respect. Are you bringin it?

“The sporting world is a place where many children and teens grow into the person they will become, said Brad Usselman, a cross county athlete at Skyview High School in Vancouver, Wash., and a blogger along with two other high school LGBT athletes at http://bradrobertben.wordpress.com. Acceptance needs to be promoted so that we can foster a generation that does not care if someone is LGBT. They look past the fact of someone’s sexuality and instead try to see who the person truly is.”

New Bird and Co WordPress Plugin Overcomes Common Issues Faced by Web Development Teams

(PRWEB UK) 3 June 2011

The web development agency Bird and Co (http://www.birdandcocreative.co.uk/) has developed a new plugin for the popular blog tool and publishing platform WordPress. WordPress has a rich plugin architecture which allows users and developers to extend the functionality beyond the standard features which come with the basic download. The Bird and Co plugin WP Deploy has been designed to overcome some of the difficulties faced by developers when working in teams using version control software and multiple stages of deployment.

The new plugin, created by the business web design (http://www.birdandcocreative.co.uk/web/business-web-design-birmingham/) company Bird and Co, streamlines the process of moving a website from the development server onto the live server. It also ensures the same up to date version of code is available to access both locally and remotely. Prior to the introduction of WP Deploy, developers would be faced with the issue of carrying out this process manually, the downside being the time taken and increased risk of errors.

Nick Downton, Web Development Manger at Bird and Co, adds At Bird and Co we really embrace the open source community and the benefits it brings to both ourselves and our clients, by giving us access to high quality, peer reviewed code that would otherwise put complex software systems out of the budget of the majority of businesses when having a website developed. We also realise that for the Open Source idea to continue providing these benefits, we must reinvest by releasing our code when we think it will benefit others. We hope that other teams will find this WordPress plugin useful , and submit ideas and features to keep improving it.

The latest version of WordPress, which was released in February this year, has been downloaded well over 30 million times with many users going on to download plugins. Web Development teams using WordPress as their Content Management System should download WP Deploy and experience the numerous benefits. Visit http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpressdeploy/ for further information and to download.

Michigan Oral Health Coalition Issues Community Mini-Grant Program Seeks to Help Fund Local Coalitions to Address Access to Oral Health Services

Lansing, Michigan. (PRWEB) December 20, 2012

The Michigan Oral Health Coalition is taking another major step in its statewide action plan to address access to oral health services. The Coalition is currently accepting applications from community-based organizations across Michigan for its 2013 Community Mini-Grant Program. An application deadline of January 4, 2013 has been set with four grants to be awarded later in the month.

Support for this grant program is provided by the Michigan Oral Health Coalition, through the Oral Health 2014 Initiative of the DentaQuest Foundation. The Michigan Oral Health Coalition looks to inspire communities to create networks of innovation, advocacy and leadership to improve the oral health of residents. These community networks will align data and resources, and create effective approaches to prevent and manage oral disease that can be replicated.

Through the 2013 Community Mini-Grant Program, the Michigan Oral Health Coalition will assist communities in developing local coalitions. The coalition approach allows the community to find solutions to health problems and determine which solutions will work best.

Oral health is an essential component of comprehensive health care, said Karlene Ketola, Executive Director of the Michigan Oral Health Coalition. We are excited to see what develops as we engage Michigan communities to embrace the challenge and opportunity of addressing oral health disparities in their communities.

For a complete grant application and guidelines, visit http://mohc.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/2013-community-mini-grant-program2.pdf.
