BitNami, which simplifies the process of deploying web applications natively, virtually and in the cloud, released today free templates for popular open source applications for Amazons new CloudFormation service.
AWS CloudFormation simplifies the process of deploying applications on top of Amazon Web Services by allowing developers to describe a stack of cloud resources and bring them up and down as a single unit. A CloudFormation stack can include load balancers, databases, EBS volumes and EC2 instances, among other resources.
By providing all of the PHP and Ruby-on-Rails-based BitNami applications as CloudFormation templates, BitNami makes it easier to deploy and provision open source applications on the cloud. Applications available as CloudFormation templates include:
