American Writers & Artists Inc. to Teach Freelancers and Writers How to Quickly and Easily Create a Professional Website to Promote Themselves

Delray Beach, FL (Vocus) September 8, 2010

American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI) today announced a new online program called Freelance Website in Four Days Express Webinar Series. Rather than having to hire someone else to do the work, AWAI will teach participants step-by-step how to build their own professional website in just four days.

In order to land new clients, freelancers need a website to promote themselves and their services. I think of a website as the 21st Century Business Card, says Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner of AWAI and Founder of its newest division, Wealthy Web Writer, which teaches freelancers to write online copy. Every day, AWAI receives requests from freelancers who need help building their website, so we decided to put together this program to give them the flexibility, control, and cost savings that comes from learning to do it themselves, she continued. This will be a practical, hands-on experience, so that in just four days, each participant will have a professional website to attract potential clients, and moving forward can make any changes they want without having to pay someone else. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

The webinar series is geared towards people who have zero technical experience, so it will start at the very beginning, and walk participants through the entire process of creating a website from start to finish. Freelancers who already have a website up and running will work on further enhancing it to ensure their website properly promotes their services to potential clients, and generates more traffic from the search engines.

After just four one-hour sessions participants will be able to:

Choose the look and feel for their own website after learning what makes a good website.
Write their websites content to properly promote themselves as experts in their fields.
Select a domain, setup their hosting, and confidentially make all other technical decisions needed.
Build their website using WordPress, and successfully take the website live.

Spaces are already filling up quickly, so its clear we identified a big need among freelancers. I think thats because for many people, constructing their own website takes months, and quite a bit of money, says Katie Yeakle, Executive Director of AWAI. Many of our members simply dont have the time or funds to make it happen on their own. This webinar series will change all of that.

Im very excited about this, said Marcia Studenski, a freelancer who has already registered for the series. Website building has always been very difficult for me! I am determined to finally get this done. And Ann Jordan-Mills wishes the series had been around when she built her website: It would have saved me tons of time, she said, but Ill be there for this series, because I know that Ill pick up additional information I can use to improve my own website and then apply to my work with clients.

Report: Reliable and Enhanced Blog Chat Box for Anime Fan Fiction Writers Recently Launched by Chatwing Team

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) August 24, 2012

Writing fan fiction for famous Anime shows and mangas have become common nowadays. This fact has been noted by the Chatwing Development Team, as part of its rapid expansion in the Anime community. Chatwing has started this expansion by introducing a blogger chat box filled with helpful features such as social media integration, direct link sharing, and ease of access. The Chatwing tool has also been making a name in famous blogging sites like WordPress, Livejournal, Yola, and Windows Live Spaces.

The Chatwing team, with a strict strategic plan, has observed that Anime bloggers and writers tend to visit numerous sites as sources of information. Chatwing can ease up the research process of these writers and web surfers by introducing a free shout box capable of global communication. Chatwing’s chat application is now enhanced with social media integration; this feature allows all users to log in with their Facebook and Twitter accounts, instead of the famed Guest option. This feature is meant for better communication setup, allowing Facebook and Twitter users to send out invitations to each other. This is useful for Anime fans who are forming communities.

Chatwing’s free chat box has also gathered popularity in forum sites and message boards. This emphasizes the flexibility of the Chatwing chat tool, allowing more people to recognize it easily. Back then, the Chatwing tool has almost struggled in climbing the ladder of online competition. By finding the right mix of marketing and software development, the Chatwing team has managed to make a mark in the industry. Today, users from different online areas are now relying on the Chatwing chat tool when it comes to web communication.

Chatwing’s dedication to the betterment of website chat can be measured by its rapid expansions and developments. Aside from Anime fan fiction writers, Anime collectors can also use the chatbox to find more tips to improve their craft. Anime manga fans, on the other hand, can share their opinions about famous mangas such as One Piece, Naruto, and Fairy Tail.

GraphicDesign.com Adds Denise Bosler, Sheana Firth as Featured Writers

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 07, 2012

There are two new faces on the GraphicDesign.com writing team, Denise Bosler and Sheana Firth. Each brings a completely different perspective to the table, ensuring that readers of GraphicDesign.com will have a well-rounded perspective on the industry.

Bosler is a professor by trade and teaches Communication Design at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. She is published, having released “Mastering Type: The Essential Guide to Typography for Print and Web Design.” The newest GraphicDesign.com featured writer focuses on print collateral, product packaging, and identity developments in both print and digital projects. She’s the brains behind MasteringType.com.

Also brand new to the GraphicDesign.com content family is Firth, who authored a recent feature article on the site examining the complications of working from home (Home Office Not Homework). Firth is the owner of Tennessee-based Breakaway Graphics, LLC and has over eight years of relevant design experience. According to a bio posted on GraphicDesign.com, “She is devoted to continuing to learn and adjust to the ever-changing field of design and provide innovative creative design solutions for her clients.”

In other content news from GraphicDesign.com, Christine Medley recently contributed a feature article about whether and how aspiring designers should build an online portfolio. At the end of the piece, readers were asked three questions, including “Which site do you use for your online portfolio?” The overwhelming favorite among GraphicDesign.com readers in that department was Wix, which received 26% of the vote.

The second most used site to build an online portfolio was Behance, which received 20%. Other nods went to included WordPress (11%), Hosted (10%), Tumblr (5%), Cargo Collective (5%), Squarespace (5%), and Carbonmade (2%).

Readers of Medley’s article were also asked whether they felt a graphic designer should build an online portfolio from the ground up using a program like Dreamweaver, as opposed to taking advantage of a packaged content management system like WordPress. Respondents overwhelmingly voted against graphic designers starting from scratch, as 68% responded “No,” while only 32% responded “Yes.”

Finally, the GraphicDesign.com community was split on whether readers had published more than one online portfolio. A total of 54% of respondents said they did not have multiple portfolios, while 46% said they did. No matter how many portfolios designers have created, or what programs they’ve used to do so, Medley stressed the importance of paying attention to content, functionality, and design.

GraphicDesign.com engages its community each week via feature articles that include poll questions. This week’s article, written by Firth, poses three questions at its conclusion and voting will remain open until August 12. Visit GraphicDesign.com today for more details.

Solo Entrepreneurs Spur Growth of Ecommerce with Money-Making Niche Websites, Reveals American Writers & Artists Inc. in Recent Report

Delray, FL (PRWEB) December 18, 2012

Doing business on the Internet may seem overwhelming to many.

But it turns out that while big companies like Amazon.com and eBay are in the headlines, thousands of small-scale, solo online businesses in super-targeted niches are quietly making millions of dollars collectively.

These entrepreneurs are tapping into their hobbies, expertise, even life and work experience to create successful money-making niche websites.

Creating simple online businesses has never been easier, says American Writers & Artists Inc. Co-Managing Partner and Vice President of Online Marketing, Rebecca Matter. Nowadays free tools like WordPress do all the heavy lifting. All the business owner has to do is provide content. And that means writing skills, not technical ones, are most important.

Because these businesses are based on one of the owners passions in life, writing articles, blog posts, and other content for the site is second nature and even fun. Copywriters with skills in marketing and advertising writing do especially well with these types of sites, which in many cases are spare time projects for extra cash.

An American Writers & Artists Inc. member profiled in the report, Karen McCamy, uses her site to indulge in her love of archaeology, specifically human evolution, Mesopotamia, and Mesoamerica. She sells educational materials, mostly to students. Its a perfect part-time business that allows her to care for her elderly father

Another American Writers & Artists Inc. member profiled in the report, Nancy Hearn, is passionate about water quality issues – specifically in ways to combat dehydration and reducing water pollution. Nancy writes reviews of water filtration systems and makes $ 1,000 to $ 3,000 a month from affiliate online sales.

This is a business model ideal for writers who want to do business online but dont want to get caught up in customer service, refunds, and other time-consuming activities. Their affiliate partners are responsible for all that.

In a time of high unemployment and distressed retirement accounts, small-scale money-making websites can provide much needed cash for current expenses and for the future.
