Marketing Strategist Blogs 50 Ways to Promote an iPhone App

Kenosha, Wis. (Vocus) July 9, 2009

Apple celebrates the one-year anniversary of the App Store this week. With more than 60,000 Apps accumulated in that time, the launch of a new App can easily get lost. That is why GS Marketing Group, Inc., a leading App developer, assembled a list of 50 (and still growing) ways to promote iPhone Apps, available as a blog article at TimCascio.Wordpress.com.

“iPhone Apps are a new addition to an integrated marketing plan, and I think people are unsure where to begin their marketing and promotional efforts,” said author Timothy Cascio, managing partner at GS Marketing Group. “Fundamental marketing rules apply, such as defining your target audience and identifying how to reach them. However, this medium requires insight as to what’s technically possible within Apps, how the iPhone App Store works and how social media can be leveraged to spread the word. My hope is that the blog is a practical guide for accomplished developers and expert marketers alike.”

For existing brands, a close look at current customer touch points can uncover a number of easy-to-implement, but often overlooked, promotional ideas. For new brands, publicity, social media and sponsorship opportunities play a larger role in the overall campaign.

Whether an existing brand or a new one, a mobile audience is at times more receptive to marketing messages than others. When and where mobile users spend their time in a captive environment is an outlet for consideration. Examples include advertising within complementary Apps, themed podcasts and at transit stations.

Publicity, promotions and advertising should coincide with the pre-release and release of Apps. The best shot at earning a Top Seller position within an iPhone App Store category is when all marketing efforts leverage one another.

Marketers are reminded that nothing holds back the full potential of an App like poor ratings and reviews. Mobile Apps require a commitment to marketing and ongoing product development to ensure long-term success. Acting upon insightful feature requests submitted by users will keep customers coming back and lure new ones into the fold.

Rob Walch, host of the popular Today in iPhone podcast said of the article, “This is, without a doubt, the most thorough list I’ve seen talking about different ways to promote your App. A must read.”

American Writers & Artists Inc. to Teach Freelancers and Writers How to Quickly and Easily Create a Professional Website to Promote Themselves

Delray Beach, FL (Vocus) September 8, 2010

American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI) today announced a new online program called Freelance Website in Four Days Express Webinar Series. Rather than having to hire someone else to do the work, AWAI will teach participants step-by-step how to build their own professional website in just four days.

In order to land new clients, freelancers need a website to promote themselves and their services. I think of a website as the 21st Century Business Card, says Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner of AWAI and Founder of its newest division, Wealthy Web Writer, which teaches freelancers to write online copy. Every day, AWAI receives requests from freelancers who need help building their website, so we decided to put together this program to give them the flexibility, control, and cost savings that comes from learning to do it themselves, she continued. This will be a practical, hands-on experience, so that in just four days, each participant will have a professional website to attract potential clients, and moving forward can make any changes they want without having to pay someone else. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

The webinar series is geared towards people who have zero technical experience, so it will start at the very beginning, and walk participants through the entire process of creating a website from start to finish. Freelancers who already have a website up and running will work on further enhancing it to ensure their website properly promotes their services to potential clients, and generates more traffic from the search engines.

After just four one-hour sessions participants will be able to:

Choose the look and feel for their own website after learning what makes a good website.
Write their websites content to properly promote themselves as experts in their fields.
Select a domain, setup their hosting, and confidentially make all other technical decisions needed.
Build their website using WordPress, and successfully take the website live.

Spaces are already filling up quickly, so its clear we identified a big need among freelancers. I think thats because for many people, constructing their own website takes months, and quite a bit of money, says Katie Yeakle, Executive Director of AWAI. Many of our members simply dont have the time or funds to make it happen on their own. This webinar series will change all of that.

Im very excited about this, said Marcia Studenski, a freelancer who has already registered for the series. Website building has always been very difficult for me! I am determined to finally get this done. And Ann Jordan-Mills wishes the series had been around when she built her website: It would have saved me tons of time, she said, but Ill be there for this series, because I know that Ill pick up additional information I can use to improve my own website and then apply to my work with clients.

Puffweb.com Releases Free Webmaster Tools to Promote Non-Smoking

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 02, 2011

Puffweb.com (known for being one of the first websites to feature an electronic cigarette review) has set aside a section of their website for users to download free WordPress Plugins that display as widgets on their website. The widgets include a Cigarette Cost Calculator and a This website owned by a non-smoker Badge. Future plugins are in development and will be added regularly.

The Cigarette Cost Calculator displays a simple and sleek calculator that allows the user to choose the number of packs they smoke per day and the cost of their cigarettes. The widget then displays the Daily, Monthly and Yearly amount of money the user spends on cigarettes. The results are displayed in real time as the user slides the controls back and forth.

The Non-Smoker Badge is a beautiful widget that the website owner can display in their sidebar to show everyone that they do not smoke. The widget reads, “Website Proudly Owned by Non-Smoker”. If enough readers see this, it may help to spread awareness about cigarette smoking and show that not everyone is a smoker, as some smokers may want to believe.

The “No Smoking Blog” widget is a fun way to tell website visitors that there is no smoking while visiting a blog!

Puffweb.com is committed to helping people quit smoking, or at least use an alternative like electronic cigarettes. Puffweb also features articles on dealing with smoking withdrawals, what happens when you stop smoking, and other helpful resources for those that are considering kicking the habit.

For example, Greensmoke Electronic Cigarettes offer non-nicotine cartridges so the user can taper down slowly from a high dose, to a medium, to a low, and finally to a non-nicotine cartridge. This is similar to The Patch, but offers a much more realistic smoking experience.

Webmasters can download the Free WordPress Widgets from Puffweb.com at the Free Widgets Page.

Puffweb hopes that others will spread the word and help promote a healthier lifestyle!
