Cybasumo.com Launches E-Commerce Solution Created Specifically for Artists on Social Networks

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 4, 2008

CybaSumo.com today officially launched the first ecommerce solution for artists and other creators on social networks. Makers of photography, video, music, digital art, eBooks, and fashion can easily market and sell a wide variety products right on Facebook, MySpace, WordPress blogs and any HTML website.

Founded by Web entrepreneurs Dag Gogue and Francis Davidson, CybaSumo gives sellers a storefront and a portable widget they can take with them to their social networks so they can earn money from various types of creative and artistic products.

“CybaSumo gives social networkers a powerful new way to translate their online reputations and Internet contacts into a viable business model,” said Dag Gogue, co-founder of CybaSumo. “We are creating a new marketplace for a new generation of artists and other creators — a generation fed up with the hassles and fees of sites such as eBay that don’t address their unique needs.”

At http://www.cybasumo.com, sellers can sign up for their own personalized storefront. Anyone visiting CybaSumo.com can browse the hundreds of stores in different categories. CybaSumo takes the concept one step further with the ‘portable store’ — a Flash widget sellers can embed into their social network pages. The seller’s contacts can then click on the widget and have immediate access to the owner’s unique storefront without leaving the social networking site.

“CybaSumo is suited for digital and tangible creations,” said Francis Davidson, CybaSumo’s other co-founder. “Purchasers can download digital goods right away, or order tangible items for shipping. Sellers can list fashion items, and more goods are coming, such as t-shirts, caps, mugs. The possibilities are endless.”

Browsing, previews, and the shopping cart are handled within the widget, so the prospective shopper does not need to leave the widget until it’s time to check out. CybaSumo has been designed to be very easy to use and customize, unlike other complicated store management and catalog systems. The site handles everything from catalog management, previews, software updates, billing, to digital order fulfillment — leaving sellers to focus on creating new works.

“Social networks are one of the most powerful tools on the Internet, and creative individuals need tools to leverage social networks’ massive influence,” Davidson said. “It can be hard to stand out, but we’re here to help make business sense of it all in a profitable way – for sellers and for us.”

About CybaSumo

CybaSumo.com is a site for artists and other creatives to sell their work where their friends and fans congregate – social networks. Formed by combining the Latin words cyba for “merchant” and sumo for “to buy,” CybaSumo gives users an easy-to-use, cost-effective method to profit from Facebook, MySpace, blogs and any Web site.

YouLicense.com Gets Social With Music Licensing Widget For Artists

New York, NY and London, England (PRWEB) November 3, 2008

YouLicense.com, the global online music licensing platform, today announced a new widget for music artists to use on social media sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, blogger and wordpress. The YouLicense.com widget allows artists to more easily make their music available for commercial licensing in TV, films, advertising and Web content.

The widget is an extension of YouLicense.com’s personalized music licensing store that any artist or band can sign up for and create on YouLicense.com. The widget, which is easily embedded in Web pages and social network profiles, allows anyone from fans to producers to listen to and license music via the YouLicense.com platform.

“I’m a big believer in social network distribution. We know that artists who offer the right licensing tools on their sites and profiles bring immediate results and revenues for themselves,” said YouLicense.com CEO Maor Ezer. “Our top priority is generating revenues and exposure for our community of artists, labels and publishers, while making YouLicense.com the leading platform to license fresh new content easily. I can’t wait to see the results that our new licensing widget will bring for our artist base.”

The licensing widget has already gained the support and stamp of approval from artists featured on YouLicense.com.

“I am so excited about the new feature and doors this opens for my music,” said pianist, singer and songwriter Jamie K. Crawford. “YouLicense.com is already so unique in the way they license and get fresh music out there for the world to hear, this is just another step forward from a great company that offers great music.”

“The new YouLicense.com widget is going to be the killer app for any band or artist looking to get their songs in a music supervisor’s hands,” said Justin Nihiser from the power-pop-rock trio We Are Berliners. “Widget today, signed tomorrow!”

How it works:

In setting up the widget, artists designate which songs they want to offer for licensing. The widget then features that music with a “license this song” link next to each song. This link will take users back to the artist’s personalized store on YouLicense.com, where interested parties can close the licensing deal.

More information about artist profiles can be found at http://www.youlicense.com/News/News.aspx?nid=90&username=YouLicense.

American Writers & Artists Inc. to Teach Freelancers and Writers How to Quickly and Easily Create a Professional Website to Promote Themselves

Delray Beach, FL (Vocus) September 8, 2010

American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI) today announced a new online program called Freelance Website in Four Days Express Webinar Series. Rather than having to hire someone else to do the work, AWAI will teach participants step-by-step how to build their own professional website in just four days.

In order to land new clients, freelancers need a website to promote themselves and their services. I think of a website as the 21st Century Business Card, says Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner of AWAI and Founder of its newest division, Wealthy Web Writer, which teaches freelancers to write online copy. Every day, AWAI receives requests from freelancers who need help building their website, so we decided to put together this program to give them the flexibility, control, and cost savings that comes from learning to do it themselves, she continued. This will be a practical, hands-on experience, so that in just four days, each participant will have a professional website to attract potential clients, and moving forward can make any changes they want without having to pay someone else. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

The webinar series is geared towards people who have zero technical experience, so it will start at the very beginning, and walk participants through the entire process of creating a website from start to finish. Freelancers who already have a website up and running will work on further enhancing it to ensure their website properly promotes their services to potential clients, and generates more traffic from the search engines.

After just four one-hour sessions participants will be able to:

Choose the look and feel for their own website after learning what makes a good website.
Write their websites content to properly promote themselves as experts in their fields.
Select a domain, setup their hosting, and confidentially make all other technical decisions needed.
Build their website using WordPress, and successfully take the website live.

Spaces are already filling up quickly, so its clear we identified a big need among freelancers. I think thats because for many people, constructing their own website takes months, and quite a bit of money, says Katie Yeakle, Executive Director of AWAI. Many of our members simply dont have the time or funds to make it happen on their own. This webinar series will change all of that.

Im very excited about this, said Marcia Studenski, a freelancer who has already registered for the series. Website building has always been very difficult for me! I am determined to finally get this done. And Ann Jordan-Mills wishes the series had been around when she built her website: It would have saved me tons of time, she said, but Ill be there for this series, because I know that Ill pick up additional information I can use to improve my own website and then apply to my work with clients.

Solo Entrepreneurs Spur Growth of Ecommerce with Money-Making Niche Websites, Reveals American Writers & Artists Inc. in Recent Report

Delray, FL (PRWEB) December 18, 2012

Doing business on the Internet may seem overwhelming to many.

But it turns out that while big companies like Amazon.com and eBay are in the headlines, thousands of small-scale, solo online businesses in super-targeted niches are quietly making millions of dollars collectively.

These entrepreneurs are tapping into their hobbies, expertise, even life and work experience to create successful money-making niche websites.

Creating simple online businesses has never been easier, says American Writers & Artists Inc. Co-Managing Partner and Vice President of Online Marketing, Rebecca Matter. Nowadays free tools like WordPress do all the heavy lifting. All the business owner has to do is provide content. And that means writing skills, not technical ones, are most important.

Because these businesses are based on one of the owners passions in life, writing articles, blog posts, and other content for the site is second nature and even fun. Copywriters with skills in marketing and advertising writing do especially well with these types of sites, which in many cases are spare time projects for extra cash.

An American Writers & Artists Inc. member profiled in the report, Karen McCamy, uses her site to indulge in her love of archaeology, specifically human evolution, Mesopotamia, and Mesoamerica. She sells educational materials, mostly to students. Its a perfect part-time business that allows her to care for her elderly father

Another American Writers & Artists Inc. member profiled in the report, Nancy Hearn, is passionate about water quality issues – specifically in ways to combat dehydration and reducing water pollution. Nancy writes reviews of water filtration systems and makes $ 1,000 to $ 3,000 a month from affiliate online sales.

This is a business model ideal for writers who want to do business online but dont want to get caught up in customer service, refunds, and other time-consuming activities. Their affiliate partners are responsible for all that.

In a time of high unemployment and distressed retirement accounts, small-scale money-making websites can provide much needed cash for current expenses and for the future.
