Executive Protection Comes To Blogs

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 26, 2007

The Executive Protection industry today joined the world of web logs with the introduction of “Executive Protection” an Executive Protection industry oriented web log. The web log, “protectivesecurity.wordpress.com” will discuss emerging issues, trends, and news of interest to the Executive Protection community and the general public.

The idea for an Executive Protection industry specific web log is the idea of Bruce Alexander, President of All Source Consulting Group LLC. Mr. Alexander is an Executive Protection specialist with extensive Executive Protection experience and expertise in both the federal government and corporate sectors.

Mr. Alexander said that his years of experience in Executive Protection convinced him that the time had arrived to develop an Executive Protection web log. “The Executive Protection industry has expanded significantly since 9/11. With the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the public has been exposed to almost nightly news and images of dignitaries and government officials being protected by teams of protective security specialists in war zones and elsewhere. This is a good time to start an Executive Protection web log as a community of interest for the Executive Protection industry and to educate the public on Executive Protection. The purpose of the web log is to provide a forum to discuss and analyze trends, tactics and share news of interest for the Executive Protection community.

Alexander added that there is a great need to present Executive Protection as a professional service in comparison to popular misconceptions associated with “bodyguards,” a term Alexander said he avoids because of its limiting and often, negative connotations. “The true professionals I know don’t guard bodies. They provide a professional service of protection to exacting standards that consists of much more than serving as a guard” said Alexander.

A review of recent posts on http://protectivesecurity.wordpress.com indicated some rather unique and interesting posts. Among the more notable entries was one addressing the pending deployment of Prince Harry to Iraq and how to protect the Prince in a war zone. Another post discussed bomb resistant trash containers as part of physical security measures for executives. One post discussed how Google Earth can be used to to help develop Executive Protection plans.

Dr. Holden will team up with Dr. Noel Capon, R.C. Kopf Professor of International Marketing, to lead the seminar.

The curriculum will include Dr. Holden’s latest book, Pricing with Confidence: 10 Ways to Stop Leaving Money on the Table.

“This seminar is perfect for upper-level and mid-level executives – especially those who analyze, recommend, or approve pricing strategies,” states Holden. “Those executives who are introducing new products, facing significant price competition, or looking for new approaches to weathering a downturn in the economy will be especially interested in what this seminar has to offer.”

The four-day program will provide attendees with strategies, tools and best practices for rigorously tackling pricing and profit growth issues at both strategic and tactical levels. It will prepare attendees to systematically identify practical opportunities within your organization for boosting profits through improvement in pricing. Attendees will leave the program with powerful new insights into pricing issues, and a new awareness of additional ways to drive business results via strategic pricing.

Attendees of the seminar will also learn how to:

Set prices at levels that maximize profits
Measure customers’ willingness-to-pay–and learn how to shape it based on the value you create
Understand which costs are relevant for pricing decisions
Establish price levels that maximize profitability
Anticipate competitive moves and design your strategy accordingly
Segment the market and get different customers to pay more or less based on their perceived value
Approach pricing decisions from the standpoint of customer lifetime value
Understand how to align prices across the product-line for maximizing overall profitability
Identify key leakage points between the list price and the final realized price – and ways to reduce the leakage
Maximize the profitability of negotiated pricing deals

Reed Holden is a world class speaker and I am very excited to have him joining me as faculty for Columbia Executive Education’s Strategic Pricing program,” stated Professor Noel Capon, author of Marketing Mavens. Capon continued, “Reed Holden is a strong example of Columbia’s commitment to bridging theory to practice. John T. Peters: Longtime Entrepreneur and Senior Executive Also Accomplished Artist

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 18, 2010

John T. Peters is well known in the travel and tourism field as the founder of Zeus Tours & Yacht Cruises and now the CEO of Tripology. However, he is also an accomplished painter.

John started drawing at the age of five. He began painting while still in high school. Later, in university, he continued studying both art and business. There he started painting using different kinds of media beyond just oil and acrylic, picked up his first professional quality brushes, and began painting and drawing the first of his pieces he would sell.

After college John spent each summer on the Greek island of Mykonos, painting watercolors of the white washed village, blue domed churches and tiny winding streets, not to mention the myriad of nude Scandinavian women. There he learned to differentiate between the whites of Mediterranean sunlight and the whites of reflective island moonlight and began developing more of his own style mixing pencil and ink. Many days were spent on Super Paradise beach with friends from around the world. Many evenings were spent at the famed Scandinavian Bar, a subject frequently painted by artists like Thomas McKnight and Johns longtime friend; Peter Apostolos.

Sacred to John are his Faces-in-the-Crowd drawings. Each is 3 feet by 2 feet and contains about 1,000 small faces, each one different from the next. This simple doodling technique has kept John busy for thousands of hours. Crowd themes include concerts, bullfights, Olympic venues, sporting events and car shows anywhere where a crowd might gather.

For years John has painted each weekend in his studio. Personal interests include international travel and ethnic food. John, his wife and two children live just outside of Chicago.

Professionally, John joined Tripology as President and CEO in 2008. Since then, John has guided the team at Tripology in hitting critical growth milestones. In 2009, Tripology processed its 100,000 trip request and has assembled a network of nearly 15,000 Travel Specialists.

Prior to Tripology, John was Vice President of Business Development & Travel Trade where he led the successful launch of Endless Vacation Rentals

Mindful Leadership Series Begins with Renowned Executive Coach Dr. Marshall Goldsmith Discussing the Transformation of Bono and How to Be Happy by Letting Go of Guilt

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 05, 2012

Ryan E. Yip, Ph.D., a branding strategist and moderator of the Enlightened Leaders Network is pleased to announce an exciting new multimedia series entitled Mindful Leadership that will foster interaction on such topics as academic preparation, character, principles, performance, experience, expression, and influence. It will also explore the impact of self-awareness, empathy, and actualization on leadership effectiveness, enabling those in management to lead an ethical and productive workforce.

Prominent business thinkers will discuss the influence of personal values on career success, individual happiness, and a meaningful life. As former Medtronic CEO and acclaimed author Bill George has stated Leaders who do not take time for introspection and reflection may be vulnerable to being seduced by external rewards, such as power, money, and recognition. Or they may feel a need to appear so perfect to others that they cannot admit vulnerabilities and acknowledge mistakes. George added that some of the recent difficulties of Hewlett-Packard, British Petroleum, CEOs of failed Wall Street firms, and dozens of leaders who failed in the post-Enron era are examples.

The series begins with Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, a world authority in helping successful leaders get even better by achieving positive, lasting change in behavior: for themselves, their people and their teams.

His book, MOJO, was released in February 2010. It is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal top ten best-seller and the Shanghai Daily #1 business book in China. It is already scheduled to be translated into 14 languages.

In November 2009 Dr. Goldsmith was recognized as one of the fifteen most influential business thinkers in the world in the bi-annual study sponsored by The (London) Times and Forbes. The American Management Association named Marshall as one of 50 great thinkers and leaders who have influenced the field of management over the past 80 years. He is one of only two educators who have won the Institute of Management Studies Lifetime Achievement Award. Major business press acknowledgments include: Businessweek most influential practitioners in the history of leadership development, Wall Street Journal top ten executive educators, Forbes five most-respected executive coaches, Leadership Excellence top five thinkers on leadership, Economic Times (India) top CEO coaches of America, Economist (UK) most credible executive advisors in the new era of business and Fast Company Americas preeminent executive coach.

There is a school of thought in business coaching that believes in strict adherence to a behavior modification model, one that is based on changing a clients reaction to external conditions said Dr. Yip. However, in Marshalls new book Mojo, he states that a persons identity, her self-definition, is one of the building blocks of a positive spirit. During our interview, I first asked him to explain how coaching to change a clients identity is different from coaching to change behavior. Dr. Goldsmith described his talk with Bono, and the evolution of U2 singers identity from rock star to include a humanitarian persona. Later in the interview, Dr. Goldsmith gave his advice on how to be happy and let go of guilt. Marshall used parables to deftly illustrate his insights for releasing the emotional burdens that chain us to habitual patterns and prevent us from experiencing self-acceptance, Dr. Yip stated.
