Bizzuka Enters "Blogosphere" with New Blog Component

Lafayette, LA (PRWEB) May 26, 2008

Bizzuka, Inc, a provider of component-based Web and intranet solutions, today announced the release of its new blog component, the latest addition to Bizzuka’s library of over 120 components in the proprietary OnDeCC Web content management platform.

“Over the past couple of years, blogging has worked its way up to being one of the most powerful tools a business can add to its marketing strategy. It’s becoming increasingly common to visit a corporate Web site and see a blog associated with it,” said Bizzuka CEO John Munsell. “Given the participatory nature of the Web and the sound business case for a blog, we felt it was imperative to provide a fully integrated blogging solution to our clients.”

The new component contains features similar to more well-known blog platforms:

Categorized content
RSS feeds at both site and category levels
Social media sharing via sites like Digg, del.icio.us, Technorati and Facebook
Comment moderation
Prurient word filtering
Tell-a-friend
Multi-media file embedding
Multiple format file attachment
WYSIWYG and HTML editing

“We did a great deal of research in preparation for the development of the blog component,” said Shannon Lynd, Senior Vice-President of Product Development. “While it was not our intent to supplant major blog platforms such as Blogger, WordPress or Movable Type, we wanted to better serve our clients’ needs by providing them with a state-of-the-art blog component that was seamlessly integrated with their Web site.”

The first Bizzuka customer to utilize the new component is Cox Greater Louisiana, the Louisiana subsidiary of Cox Communications.

“The Cox Web site and blog will enable us to offer our perspectives on technology and have an open dialogue with the community,” said Sharon Kleinpeter, Vice President of Governmental and Public Affairs for Cox Greater Louisiana. “The experts at Bizzuka convinced us of the value of a blog because of its two-way communication feature. It will enable our local customers to have conversations with Cox technology experts and we encourage the community to engage in conversation with us.”

Blog technology offers companies many business advantages, not the least of which is its ability to garner attention from search engines like Google. “Blogs also provide an ability to do something no other Web content management medium does, at least not as well: stimulate conversation,” said Bizzuka marketing director and veteran blogger Paul Chaney.

“Blog readers have the ability to comment on what has been written and have those comments appear on the site. They can ask questions, state opinions, tell stories or relate their particular point-of-view. Blogs enable dialog between a company and its customers or prospects, making the cultivation of a long-term relationship more plausible, he added”

New York Homeless Assistance Non-Profit Enters Digital Age

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2012

The partnership was established after Ayima was invited to speak on an Extreme Makeover SEO panel at the annual Search Marketing Expo conference in New York. The marketing agency was challenged with providing a non-profit with a pro-bono Search Engine Optimization makeover and then to present their strategy and findings at the conference.

Ayima worked relentlessly with Nazareths administrators, making modifications to the website and building the non-profits online presence. We made alterations to both the content and structure of Nazareths website, to make it more understandable to search engines such as Google, explained David Burgess, head of Ayimas New York office. A marketing outreach campaign was also developed to attract links from relevant websites and partners, which increased the non-profits perceived popularity in the eyes of search engines.

One considerable hurdle faced by both Ayima and Nazareth Housing, was the amount of resources required to make even the most basic of changes to the existing website. According to James Saracini, Assistant for Development and Mission at Nazareth Housing, adding a new page to our site could take over 2 hours.

The non-profit could barely afford to continue wasting precious resources maintaining their website, but it was vital to keep their donors and beneficiaries informed and connected. It was also clear to Nazareth Housings more tech-savvy Junior Board, that their website was beginning to look extremely out-dated. Ayima decided to go beyond their initial SEO remit and to extend the project beyond online marketing, commissioning a website overhaul. Following consultation with Michael Callaghan, Executive Director of Nazareth, Ayimas in-house web design agency DesignBuzz (http://www.designbuzz.co.uk/), got to work on a fresh new look for the non-profit.

We decided to power the new website using WordPress (http://wordpress.org/), a popular blogging and content management system. The software is free and open source, so future changes and updates will be extremely easy and cost effective for the non-profit, noted DesignBuzzs Creative Director, Jay Galsworthy. The new design not only provided a clean, contemporary and professional public face for Nazareth Housing, but also resolved the issue of resource time taken up by maintaining the site. This saving was estimated at over 200 man-hours every year.

The SEO campaign was also a huge success. Ayimas work resulted in the non-profit ranking on the first page of Google.com and Bing.com for searches such as [homeless charity NYC], [emergency family shelters NYC] and [furniture donation NYC].

Discussing the project, David Burgess commented, Its now over 6 months since weve been working with Michael and James at Nazareth Housing. It gives me great pleasure to see the huge strides forward that have been made in such a short space of time. Im a big fan of the digital community in New York City, driven by Mayor Bloomberg and his Chief Digital Officer, Rachel Sterne. By embracing the latest outreach and communication platforms, they are connecting with New Yorkers and the wider internet community in ways other cities could only dream of.

Ayima co-founder, Rob Kerry, added Were proud to know that the work carried out will enable Nazareth Housing to connect with and assist more vulnerable individuals in New York, to drive donations and to support activities in the future. It has been a hugely rewarding project for our team and we look forward to continuing our support of Nazareth Housing in the foreseeable future.

Interior Designers Heading to Beverly Hills To Learn Leading Edge Business Skills Business of Design Conference Enters 9th Year as Premier Source for Design Education

Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

More like an executive education seminar at a leading business school than a trade show, the BoD Conference employs a wide array of business experts and faculty members to bring leading edge business education to interior designers and decorators. BoD Conference founder David Shepherd (a 25-year veteran of one of the nation’s top-ranked business schools) will serve as facilitator and present a challenging new segment entitled, “The 7 Doors To Your Destiny.”

“After a decade of working with thousands of designers, I’ve identified seven critical belief systems that the most successful designers must embrace,” said Shepherd. “I’m looking forward to putting designers through a thoughtful, provocative series of exercises centered around seven psychological principlesCalling, Changing, Crossing, Risking, Asking, Dreaming, and Doing. I guarantee that anyone making it through these self-tests will experience important changes in their business, and perhaps in their life.”

Because of the exclusive, interactive nature of the BoD Conference (http://www.bodconference.com) attendance is limited to about 200 and the conference sells out months in advance. As evidence of the value designers find in the conference, many interior designers will be attending their sixth, seventh, eighthand even ninth consecutive BoD Conference. “The first event in 2004 was like divine intervention,” said San Antonio designer Debbie Baxter. ” This will be my ninth consecutive event and I wouldn’t miss it.”

In addition to Shepherd, this year’s BoD Conference offers a faculty of the most experienced, successful consultants and advisors on the business of design. These include:

Gail Doby Founder of Design Success University
Fred Berns A leading authority on branding
Lloyd Princeton Founder of iMatch Designers and negotiation expert
LeeAnn Reed Author of the “bible” on QuickBooks for Designers
Alex Oliver Google Sketchup authority
Julia Molloy Founder of Molloy Management
Vita Vygovska Marketing expert
Josh Unfried Expert on Facebook for the affluent
Lance Haeberle Founder, Studio Webware

For the first time ever, the BoD Conference is also introducing a “Genius Bar,” an entire afternoon in which attendees will be brought up to speed on every relevant technology including new tools like Pinterest, Evernote, and Webare, as well as more mature ones like Basecamp, WordPress, and hardware devices including the iPad and smart phones.

“Doug Greiwe, a designer from Cincinnati is one of our regular attendees,” Shepherd continued, “and he says simply that the BoD Conference is ‘the most important event of the year for me as a designer, and as a businessman.’ I couldn’t say it any better.”

A comprehensive brochure and registration link is available at http://www.bodconference.com. The 2012 BoD Conference will be held at the luxurious SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Information to claim low rates are offered to registrants at the time of registration.

For information on attendance or sponsorship, e-mail Maria Privitera at support(at)bodconference(dot)com, or visit http://www.bodconference.com. Early Bird discounted pricing ends May 31, or as long as seats remain.

The Business of Design Conference (BoD Conference) enters its ninth year as the premier source of business education for interior designers and decorators. Founded by business school professor, David Shepherd, the BoD Conference has helped over a thousand interior designers to improve their business practices and bottom line profitability. For maximum learning, events are limited to about 200 attendees and sell out months in advance.
