Want to Knock a Competing Business Off of Google? A New Study Shows that $45 May be All it Takes

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) June 24, 2012

TastyPlacement, an Austin-based search engine optimization firm, recently released a study that highlights the potential for businesses to negatively impact the search engine positions of competitors through the purchase of inexpensive spam links.

Negative SEO (search engine optimization) has emerged recently as a malicious technique employed by businesses that seeks to harm the Google search rankings of a competitor’s website. The principal method employed by practitioners of negative SEO is to purchase hypertext links from poor quality websites and direct those links to point to a competitor’s website. While digital marketing practitioners disagree on the effectiveness of negative SEO, the theory underlying the practice is that Google’s ranking algorithm interprets the low-quality links as an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings and responds by punishing the target website by lowering its ranking position.

Specifically, the study began with a sample website that enjoyed consistent favorable search rankings for a popular search term. Operators then purchased over 50,000 “spam” website links through online forums and from practitioners of negative SEO techniques over the course of several weeks in May of 2012. The total cost of the purchased links was $ 45. The operators then monitored the search engine ranking position of the target website over the course of the study.

The results revealed a drop in ranking position for the test website’s principal search phrase from position 3 to position 14 in Google search results within the 30 days covered by the study.

Michael David, who conducted the study, noted, “We only tested one website, but the short period of time and the correlation between the dates we got the links and the dates the website moved lower in search results seems pretty clear to us that negative SEO is very real, and is likely to become very popular as a result.”

An infographic covering the study, as well as a detailed methodology, are available here: http://www.tastyplacement.com/infographic-testing-negative-seo

Acobot Live Chat Robot Helps Online Shops Boost Sales by Predicting What Customers Want to Ask

Sunnyvale, California (PRWEB) September 20, 2012

Sunnyvale start-up, Acobot LLC, has added a new feature to its next-generation AI (artificial intelligence) chat bot that predicts users questions before they even finish asking them. The live chat robot, known as Aco, has the inbuilt intuition to predict what a website visitor wants to type and finish their sentence for them. At first glance, the feature is similar to a Google-style auto-complete but rather than just offering tips and phrases, Aco completes the full sentence or offers a choice of finishes. She also understands synonyms and synonymous phrases, so that she can make sense of a question or part-question even when its worded in different ways.

To create a live chat robot for their own site, complete with her Nostradamus-like predictive powers, users simply sign up at http://acobot.com , where they can prepare their personal Aco, free of charge, and then install her on their site when shes ready. Aco is also available as a WordPress chat plugin.

Vic Duan, Acobots founder and CEO, comments: “Aco works like a psychic chat robot, endowed with the power of predicting what visitors are about to ask and finishing their questions for them, or offering them a choice of finishes, all in properly constructed, meaningful and highly relevant sentences. Its almost spooky.”

Acos powers are due to Acobots new breed of advanced AI programming that delivers a sophisticated, intuitive and now almost prophetic chat robot at a price hitherto unavailable. The program is supported by Acobots intuitive learning, which enables even the most inexperienced owner to train Aco in just a few hours, simply by asking her questions and then offering her better replies which she learns and instantly begins to use.

Aco is able to learn much more quickly than any previous generation of chat bots, even those that cost a great deal more, and can provide her own synonymous words and phrases. For example, if an owner teaches her to answer the question “what are your prices?”, Aco will also be able to answer questions such as how much does it cost? and “how much do I need to pay?”, and can add these like-minded meanings to her predictions for questions.

Predicted sentences are more than just a party trick as they provide extremely effective conversion optimization. Vic Duan continues: Acos predictive powers have a number of benefits beyond simply saving time or reducing the need to type whole questions. Monitoring site visitors during beta has shown us that the function acts as an early way of qualifying customer leads. Casual visitors tend to ignore Acos suggestions but serious potential customers are much more likely to select questions relevant to the business. The questions also focus a serious customers train of thought, so that its becomes easier to close a sale straight away, optimizing conversion rates.

The Acobot AI robot is available to non-commercial website owners free of charge. Commercial users can choose from different price plans, including a free plan as well as paid-for plans starting at $ 29/month. Paid-for plans do not include Acobot branding.

About Acobot

Acobot LLC is an AI chat company established in May 2012. Its history goes back to 2009 when a team at Acosys began an R&D project on AI, then launched its first AI product in the final week of 2011. Based on the positive feedback from the first batch of trial users, the company decided to spin off Acobot as a stand-alone company, focused on AI chat.

New Premium WordPress Theme for Attorneys, Law Firms and Legal Offices That Want to Build Instant Credibility Launched by ThemeFuse

Bucharest, Romania (PRWEB) July 03, 2012

ThemeFuse – leading provider of premium WordPress themes has launched a new theme – The Practice – targeted towards attorneys, legal offices, and law firms that want to launch a professionally looking website that’s in tune with the market’s standards, but doesn’t cost thousands of dollars at the same time.

“What’s interesting about the ‘law firm web design’ space is that various design businesses usually put big price tags on their work just because they’re dealing with an attorney,” said Dimi Baitanciuc – co-founder of ThemeFuse. “With our new theme we wanted to show that a quality website doesn’t have to cost much, and can still look stunning.”

This lawyer WordPress theme can be downloaded from ThemeFuse’s website, and then installed in less than five minutes. The Practice has been designed to work with one of the most popular website management platform – WordPress – an open source system widely supported by every major hosting provider.

This new theme doesn’t require any programming or web development skills in order to install it. ThemeFuse delivers a clever feature called “One Click Auto Install,” which sets all the initial parameters of the website and then installs sample data the user can change later.

“Creating a website for an attorney requires a specific approach. The final product can’t be too flashy or it won’t look professionally enough. Therefore, the main goal of this kind of work is to create a trustworthy design that builds some instant credibility. That’s exactly what we had in mind when working on this new theme,” said Bogdan Condurache.

The theme supports multiple platforms, which makes the website look attractive on desktops, tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices. Also, there are built-in SEO possibilities, so users don’t have to install additional plugins to optimize their sites.

Additionally, ThemeFuse offers their users a very friendly support area and comprehensive online documentation. For more information, and details on how to get and install The Practice please visit: http://themefuse.com/wp-themes-shop/lawyer-wordpress-theme/

Remaining Buzzinar Seats Limited After Successful Launch to Business Owners Who Want to Increase Average Customer Value

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) September 22, 2012

After a wildly popular webinar, Omar Martin is planning to close the doors to his Buzzinar program so he can service existing customers.

Buzzinar is a collection of software, WordPress themes, email templates and training to help business owners increase their sales to customers by improving or redesigning their existing sales funnels.

Not selling as much as possible to existing customers who would happily buy your products and services is a major problem for most companies according to many experts, including marketing legend Jay Abraham.

Buzzinar is designed to help any marketer or business owner design a sales funnel that filters out the freebie seekers while selling as many front-end, mid-range and high-ticket back-end products as possible to current and future customers.

“With a well-designed sales funnel, you can be in front of your customer when they are ready to buy what you are selling instead of losing them to the competition.” said Ayers of BuzzinarReviews.com.

Martin has included a number of bonuses with the course, including a viral social media plugin that encourages visitors to share on Facebook in exchange for a free report or video.

Despite the concerns of some, one doesn’t need a list to get solid results from the course. Martin goes in-depth into the importance of list building and how to build a list using free traffic and paid traffic.

Move information about the course can be found on the official site here.
