ShoZu Wins Gold in the Future Mobile Awards for their Contribution to Mobile Web 2.0

Hampshire, UK (PRWEB) August 19, 2008

Mobile Web 2.0 innovators, ShoZu, have been selected by Juniper Research as the top award winner in the Future Mobile Awards – mobile web 2.0 category.

The Future Mobile Awards are given to companies that have made a significant contribution to their sector and are poised to make considerable market impact in the future. The gold award recognises ShoZu as being a leading light in the development of the sector.

Ian Chard, panel judge and Analyst at Juniper Research says, “Supporting one-click transfer of digital content between mobile phones and 50+ social web destinations, geo-tagging, mobile-to-web messaging, and behavioural targeted advertising, ShoZu offers mobile network operators an established, all-round Mobile Web 2.0 on/off-deck turnkey platform. The average user is said to generate 20 network ‘events’ (i.e. content uploads/downloads) per month, with heavy users generating in excess of 100 events per month. This success demonstrates what can be achieved if users have the right tools available. ShoZu has partnered with Telecom Italia, Singapore’s StarHub and 3 (Austria and UK) under revenue-share agreements, while shipping as an embedded application on Motorola and Samsung handsets. By providing the mobile web equivalent of a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and catering to the needs of the prosumer, ShoZu is a deserving Gold winner this year.”

The awards were granted by a panel of expert judges based on a number of criteria, including: Innovation; Customer retention and growth; Commercial deployment; Ease of use/user interface; Revenue generation; Pricing (for services/products); and Capability/functionality. Gold and Silver awards were conferred for each category – Gold awarded to ShoZu, and Silver to BuzzCity – within the mobile web 2.0 category.

ShoZu CEO Mark Bol commented, “ShoZu has received some of the top awards in the industry, but being recognized by a respected analyst firm like Juniper Research is particularly gratifying. They clearly understand the problems of the mobile Web, the need to mobilize social media, and our contribution to both areas,” He continued, “Our goal all along has been to help users manage their online social lives from the handset, and this award shows that we have done that better than anyone else in the industry.”

ShoZu is a mobile utility that speeds and simplifies the process of interacting with online social media from the mobile phone by enabling users to connect to over 50 Web 2.0 sites – ranging from Facebook to YouTube, Flickr, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Photobucket, Twitter, Google Blogger, WordPress and beyond – from a single interface. This eliminates the need to open a mobile browser and navigate to each community. With ShoZu installed on the handset, smartphone, iPhone or BlackBerry, users can mass-publish any photo or video to multiple websites and/or email addresses with a single upload; send Twitters and update Facebook status from the same interface; have friends’ photos, comments and other posts delivered directly to the mobile device without intervention; and more. Search Expert Weighs In on Future of the Industry

Aarhus, Denmark (PRWEB) November 15, 2008

Stephen E. Arnold, an expert in search, content processing, and text analytics, recently delivered a lecture to a standing-room only crowd in Aarhus, Denmark, at the JBoye 08 (http://www.jboye08.dk/) conference Nov. 4 to 6.

Arnold’s analysis of enterprise search in 2009 identified major trends in the enterprise search and context processing industry; reviewed companies that will drive search success going forward; selected hot market sectors; and explained the rising challenges vendors and licensees will face.

Determining deals for bundled or “just there” search will put sales pressure on many small and specialty vendors, and competition from Google will increase that pressure as smaller companies try to avoid being swallowed by the search giant. Ballooning expenses will cause the purchasing companies to squeeze all they can out of budgets, which means fiercer competition amongst the vendors. Understanding and handling that may be beyond many small company salesmen. And SharePoint will continue to grow in scope and usage, a challenge to all search system developers.

“I fear that we will lose some number of search and content processing firms in the next six to 12 months. Innovation will continue to replenish the pool but some relatively well known firms will run aground,” Arnold said.

Arnold invites usage of his information and documents with proper attribution. The full text of the lecture and a pdf are available on the ArnoldIT.com Web site at http://arnoldit.com/wordpress/2008/11/11/search-2009-the-arnold-boye08-lecture/. The speech has been crafted into a more definitive statement of Arnold’s views and will be published.

As the managing partner of Arnold Information Technology (http://www.arnoldit.com), Arnold has more than two decades of experience in computer-based information retrieval, practical work gained through client assignments around the world and a deep understanding of the technology and business of enterprise search.

“Successful Enterprise Search Management” will be available as a download in late November and in hard copy mid-December through Galatea at http://www.galatea.co.uk/.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 19, 2010

International Trade Education Programs (ITEP) has started off the New Year on the right financial foot receiving donations from four corporations to provide training for jobs of the future.

We would not be here today if we did not receive contributions from companies like the Bettina Weary Trust, Teekay Corporation, Shell Oil Company, the Watson Land Company, and the international trade industry, said Carol Rowen, CEO & Founder of International Trade Education Programs (ITEP). We are so thankful to the business and international community that supports us as we celebrate a decade of providing training programs for jobs of the future.

ITEP received $ 5,000 from Bettina Weary Trust; $ 30,000 from Teekay Corporation; $ 10,000 from the Shell Oil Company and $ 25,000 from the Watson Land Company.

ITEP programs assess the needs of high schools and the surrounding transportation, logistics and industry needs. ITEP works with schools that need to boost graduation rates, decrease the number of dropouts, and enhance standardized test scores. Students who graduate from the struggling schools rarely had opportunities or motivation to pursue further education or employment. Thats where ITEP comes to the rescue by designing programs to fulfill those needs, guiding and mentoring students on a career path of current jobs of the future. They discover a whole new world of career choices they would have never imagined, said Rowen. ITEP trains high students at various academies

A Visit to the Branch of the Future Today

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) August 10, 2010

Extraco Banks, a $ 1.2 billion community bank with 15 branches in central Texas, was not satisfied with incorporating new technologies for the sake of change alone. Extraco has taken a quantum leapincorporating the best of in-branch systems with the latest and best banking technologies to improve the customer lobby experience while creating internal time and cost saving efficiencies.

The following is a Q/A session with Sandra Dixon, EVP of Extraco, who was instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of the enhanced branch banking environment at Extraco.

FMSI/Davis: What was the first step in determining how best to do this?

The first step in redefining our branch model was to analyze and evaluate the branch performance environment. To accomplish this goal, Extraco utilized the Teller Management SystemTM (TMS) provided by Financial Management Solutions, Inc. (FMSI). The monthly TMS reports gave Extraco detailed performance management information for our entire branch network. Over time we utilized the TMS reports to collect and analyze performance trends in critical areas such as transactions per hour. How do you run your business without knowing your numbers? TMS gave us detailed data and performance projections based on our historic branch transaction activity, and was essential to understanding our performance levels, volume fluctuations, and traffic patterns. This critical information helped us redesign staffing, customer service, even our branch hours.

FMSI/Davis: What does this redefined branch look like?

The branch now has Dialogue Banking Towers (towers/pods) located throughout the lobby where any customer activity (e.g., service issue, account opening, loan funding, transactional processing) can be handled, creating one-stop shopping for our customers. Next, we modified the traditional teller line actually cutting through the sacred granite counters to create an openingwhich allows the RBs the flexibility to move freely throughout the lobby to assist customers. Then we redesigned the lobby flow to create open areas that facilitate conversation with and service to our customers, while reserving traditional office space for confidential or more complex transactions.

We coupled the new towers/pods and modified teller lines with Talaris Vertera cash recyclers with dual coin counters interfaced to Jack Henry (JH) Vertex Teller Capture. The cash recyclers accept cash deposits, verifying and authenticating bills before securely storing them, as well as dispense cash so that RBs are free to focus completely on the customers. JH Teller Capture scans and captures checks in real time at the point of presentment and interfaces with the teller platform system to expedite transaction processing.

Last, we added several amenities to make the lobby more customer friendly. RBs use headsets to communicate with each other to ensure lobby traffic is served promptly and efficiently. Educational towers throughout the branch highlight our products and services, while a technology wall lets customers try the latest technological innovations first hand. Specialty coffee, premium snacks, and the latest financial and national news publications are available at our coffee bar and resource wall. And for those self-directed customers who may find themselves in the lobby, we even added video conferencing so they can work direct with our Customer Care Center on their issue.

The best change is the overall atmosphere. While the equipment and design are key elements, its the quality of our well-trained staff that makes it work.

Spanky Media Opens the Future in Mobile Website Development

Perth, Western Australia (PRWEB) May 21, 2012

Spanky Media aims to provide businesses and organisations with efficient and attractive websites. The company also develops innovations in WordPress development to deliver quality websites and, at the same time, meeting the different demands of clients especially those who are always on the go.

While accessing the internet from a mobile device is no longer new, there is a renewed interest in mobile website development now that there is an increased availability of devices that are WAP 2.0 ready. Since there is an abundance of XHTML developers, it is no wonder why Spanky Media wants to remain as the leading company in Australia that brings affordable web design using this particular type of platform.

According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority, there were more than 21.26 million mobile phone users since the year 2007 and the rise of people who will own mobile phones in the country were expected to rise at 7.6% yearly. Out of the 21.26 million people who use mobile phones, 4.5 million of them use 3G mobile services and the number will increase to 192% yearly because most phones created these days are now capable of WAP 2.0.

Due to the rise of the number of Australians relying so much on their mobile phones, this has also affected the way people do their online transactions as more and more Australians are comfortable making their purchases using their mobile phones. On the other hand, there are now numerous website owners and administrators who love to work on their websites from their mobile phones.

The convenience to do custom WordPress development from mobile phones has some drawback, each model or brand is uniquely made. This means that a particular website may look and function differently from one mobile phone to the other. For business owners, not being able to tap the power of mobile web design can mean loss of a lot of revenue. Spanky Media, on the other hand, can help create specialised versions of any website that is intended only for the type of mobile phone that exists in the market. This makes online blogging and website updating from mobile phones easy and convenient for the customers.

With this idea, business owners who aim to stay afloat have better leverage over their competitors if they use mobile website development. This innovation will never go away and will be developed further to cater more powerful mobile phone services in the future. In fact, Googles previous CEO Eric Schmidt said to put your best people on mobile simply because mobile today is the fastest industry in the planet thus its development is aggressive to meet the demands of many mobile phone users. This is the reason why most mobile phone services these days are created with powerful apps that are intended in mobile browsing. And as long as there is development in mobile phones, with respect to mobile browsing, expect that Spanky Media will always be there to provide the latest innovation in mobile website development.

Be on top of your league with mobile website development. Talk to us at 1300 729 261 or visit our website at http://spankymedia.com.au/.
