Club Develops Social Media Network

(PRWeb UK) August 18, 2010

The Camping and Caravanning Club has expanded its social media network by adding a Facebook account and a WordPress blog to its online range of services.

The Club already has an account with micro-blogging site, Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/campandcaravan) but has since strengthened its online resources to help increase engagement with members and non-members whilst driving traffic through to its own website.

The additional social media channels will provide campers and caravanners with key opportunities to learn about The Clubs latest news, events and offers whilst also providing an outlet for people to express their opinions and discuss all aspects of the great outdoors.

The Clubs Marketing and Communications Director, Matthew Eastlake, is enthusiastic about the progression.

He said: As the social medium continues to grow, it has become increasingly important for The Club to connect with its members and non-members through a variety of interactive platforms.

Our Facebook, Twitter and WordPress blog pages offer an outlet for campers to increase their knowledge of The Club and share their views.

These sites will provide us with an additional resource to further understand peoples needs.

SociView Global Beta Customers Announced: Dell, Zebra Technologies, and Reading Football Club

Wokingham, UK (PRWEB UK) 14 July 2011

With literally thousands of social-media accounts and instances across the globe, these companies were quick to recognize the value of the worlds first social-media-mapping application. SociView is enabling customers to gain a strategic view of their direct and indirect social-media real estate whilst benchmarking the quality, effectiveness, and influence of official and channel-partner accounts and social communications.

Already delivering new insights into their social-media activity, beta clients are realizing the immense potential of the application.

The challenge, as a large organisation, lies in governing the use of these channels, benchmarking internally which ones are proving most effective, and delivering more return for our marketing spends. SociView will give us this visibility across the organisation.

Kathryn McCarthy

Marketing Communications Manager EMEA

Zebra Technologies Europe Limited

SociView enables clients across all industries to see precisely where their accounts and instances are, country by country, and to see which ones are providing the widest reach and generating the most sales opportunities. Clients are able to drill down on specific topics, areas of business, and brand names to benchmark which social-media instances are most effective, and how to optimize and consolidate those that are not delivering a high return on activity. Large organizations undergoing acquisitions and mergers or those with a high number of stakeholders are able to use the application to identify and act upon non-compliant or dormant accounts.

SociView was developed by working closely with large international organizations to address issues arising from marketing across many different social channels. There was a lack of knowledge and awareness of where these organizations accounts and instances were, who was running them and what effect they were having. Because there werent any social-media tools available to help them take control, SociView fills that gap.

How SociView works

SociView collates a companys social accounts and instances into a single dashboard. These instances are then individually categorized, ranked, and rated to show relevance and impact on the brand.

The application then categorizes each instance, as official, endorsed, unofficial, or other. A custom-developed SociScore between 1 and 100 is automatically applied to show how each instance is performing. Companies can then benchmark their social accounts against each other to establish best practice, compliance, and corporate governance. SociView also measures performance against competitors social accounts.

New features are continually being added to the application to address client needs. The beta release now includes Tumblr, WordPress, SlideShare and other blogging platforms. A new SociScore Advisor helps users understand exactly how they can improve the scores for each account. Future development plans to enable clients to profile and segment their social audience will ensure this insight can be used to create targeted campaigns.

Tutorials Club Launches Unique Subscription Flash Tutorial Service

Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) September 25, 2006

Tutorials Club (http://www.tutorialsclub.com), a provider of flash educational videos for the web hosting industry, announced today it has launched its flagship subscription-based tutorials service.

Starting as low as $ 10 monthly, subscribers receive access to a specific package of tutorials, such as cPanel, WHM, DirectAdmin, Plesk, Joomla, Mambo, WordPress, Community Builder, FTP Software and phpBB. All tutorials are hosted by Tutorials Club, eliminating the additional expense of bandwidth for subscribers.

We have developed a service that meets all logical expectations for flash tutorials, said Doyle Lewis, founder of Tutorials Club parent company DemoPlaza (http://www.demoplaza.com). As Web applications develop over time, our constantly updated subscription service eliminates the need for hosts to re-purchase tutorials. Whats more, since we host our tutorials, we have entirely outsourced the whole operation — in other words, that means one less thing for hosts to worry about.

Flash tutorials are designed to be compatible with nearly any Web browser, and are appropriate for users of all skill levels. Each tutorial features a visual walkthrough of a specific operation — such as adding an email account in cPanel — as well as text explanations throughout.

One of our biggest selling points is the dramatic drop in support tickets that many of our customers experience after offering flash tutorials, said Lewis. Weve essentially eliminated a large component of Level 1 technical support issues, and a reduction in customer support costs usually follows.

Also included in all subscriptions is a custom-designed Tutorial Center, a flash portal offering easy navigation to all tutorials in the package.

For more information about Tutorials Club, please visit http://www.tutorialsclub.com.

About Tutorials Club

Founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of tutorials-powerhouse DemoPlaza, Tutorials Club (http://www.tutorialsclub.com) is a provider of professional, subscription-based flash tutorials for the web hosting industry. Robotics Club is a FIRST at Asheville School

Asheville, North Carolina (PRWEB) February 23, 2012

Wander into an Asheville School classroom on most Monday evenings and youll find a group of enthusiastic students excited to see how theyve managed to transform a hunk of metallic parts into their very own robot.

With the help of alumni and faculty support, a small group of dedicated students have organized a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team at Asheville School. Lately, theyve been spending their free time prepping for the NC FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) in Greensboro, NC — a competition they expect to be very challenging, and which they hope will teach them the skills they will need to win at the national level. The day-long competition begins Saturday morning, February 25 on the campus of NC A&T State University.

After spending the last year and a half studying robotics, junior Ryan Do initiated the club in October and worked with team members to build the teams robot.

One year of studying paid off, I think, said Do. I formed the Robotics Club in late October and since then, builders have met every Monday for an hour and a half, and programmers have met every other Saturday.

As Do recalls, the process of starting the club was daunting. Everything was pretty much challenging, he said. First of all, we didnt have enough money to order the parts we needed. Therefore, we had to work on raising money at the same time. Since no one in the club had dealt with robotics before, it took us almost a month just to get friendly with robotics parts and programming.

Ian Van Wye, one of the club members new to robotics this year, says hes enjoyed the team atmosphere, but agreed that the process wasnt easy in the beginning. I enjoyed learning how to operate the robot, though it does come with a steep learning curve, Van Wye said. Additionally, I appreciate the sense of camaraderie among the members of the club. I feel that we all work very well as an efficient team.

Although hes still learning, Van Wye certainly recognizes the benefits of joining a robotics club. Personally, I want to improve my ability to think critically in technical situations, and Id like to become more facile with the technology that will likely define the future of our economy, he said.

Thanks to financial support from the Stonecutter Foundation, the Robotics Club received the funds it needed to send the group into its first competition in 2012.

Anything that intrigues an inquisitive mind and develops the mind is exciting, said James Cowan 68, president of the Stonecutter Foundation in Spindale, NC. If these students get inspired by working with electronics, it can lead to career paths that traditional, more conservative liberal arts curriculums dont lead to. This may work with only one out of 1,000 students, but if we can intrigue that one mind, think of what we will achieve.

With the competition slated for Saturday, February 25, the club members are learning the intricacies of controlling their robot, and are practicing for the big game with racquet balls, crates and a bowling ball. There are a number of rules to keep the game play challenging.

They are extremely excited, said Charles Long, Technology Coordinator at Asheville School and the faculty sponsor of the Robotics Club. I was impressed and had more confidence in their abilities once I saw the finished robot.

Long, who will travel to Greensboro with the team, is anxious to see how the team performs. They have been faithful to meet and Im actually learning from them, Long said. I am taking them to competition and working with John Thorsen, Assistant Head of School for Advancement, to help raise money to support it. Weve also had support from math teacher Larry Kollath.

With the robots construction complete, Do seems confident that his team will perform well at the state level. I think our robot is one of the best robots in North Carolina, Do said. Now, everything depends on the controllers. Even though its our first year, I believe our hard work will result in a good performance at the competition.

Junior Brandon Liang echoes Dos enthusiasm. To be honest, we cant be more excited. Its really joyful and amazing to actually see our robot work so perfectly after months of effort. Just being able to work and make innovations with my best friends here can simply cheer me up. Besides, robotics has always been one of my dreams. Its fantastic to see your dream come true.

Van Wye too is anxious to see how the Blues robot performs in the grand arena. I am certainly looking forward to seeing our hard work come to fruition at the upcoming competition, Van Wye said. I imagine that we are in for a challenge, considering that this is our clubs first year in existence, though I am excited to see how our robot performs relative to those of other high schools. The prospect of advancing to the national level competition in St. Louis and representing Asheville School is a significant motivating factor for our team.

To follow the progress of the Robotics Club at Asheville School, visit the clubs blog page at http://www.bluesrulenodoubt.wordpress.com.

A nationally acclaimed co-ed college preparatory boarding and day school, Asheville School enrolls approximately 275 students from across the country and overseas. Recent graduates are attending Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Caltech, UCLA, UNC-Chapel Hill, Davidson, NC State, University of Virginia, Emory, Duke, and Wake Forest, among others.
