PageOne Curator by Paul Clifford Puts Publishers and Google Back on Good Terms

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) June 12, 2012

Page One Curator review just went live on MayDayReport.com and takes a close look into the most popular content curation tool on the market today.

Content curation is being employed by a growing number of web publishers who want to improve search engine results using high-quality, authoritative content while abandoning the murky SEO practices that left thousands of websites on Googles hit list after the Penguin update.

Google and content curators have one thing in common: they both want to make more money by offering the Googling masses something new: the information they were actually looking for in the first place.

People can see the official website by going to

http://maydayreport.com/page-one-curator-review/

Its hard to find a content guru out there who isnt singing the praises of curating content, said a spokesperson for MayDayReport.com. We wanted to take a close look at the most popular tool on the market to determine how it is helping publishers increase traffic and revenue.

For many, the latest trend in improving SEO is doing exactly what Google wants, but in an efficient, streamlined and profitable way. The makers of Page One Curator say curating content can be enormously profitable, as long as publishers have the right time-saving tools to get the job done.

The latest Page One Curator review covers the various features, including added SEO tools to help bring more traffic and select the most effective keywords.

It also covers the all important curation features, such as an easy in-dash search feature that makes it easy to pick the highest-quality, most relevant content from hundreds of thousands of options.

Any tool that can help drastically cut down the time spent searching for text, photos, video and social posts is worth looking into, MayDayReport.com spokesperson said. Especially one that can do all of that and publish right to your WordPress site.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) May 19, 2008

Found at OpenCalais.com (http://www.OpenCalais.com), Calais gives publishers and developers free, open access to automatic metatagging capabilities that increase the relevance and search accessibility of their content on the Web.

Calais version 2.0 features a dozen new semantic entity types, improving its utility for pop-culture publishers and bloggers covering media, music, entertainment and sports, as well as those covering pharmaceuticals, medicine and healthcare. It also adds code samples and libraries for accessing Calais, as well as two new output types the Simple Tags format and Microformats alongside the standard Resource Description Framework (RDF) option.

In addition, Calais 2.0 marks the debut of Thomson Reuters’ breakthrough Calais Marmoset toolkit. Calais Marmoset is a simple yet powerful tool that makes it easy for publishers to generate and embed metadata in their content in preparation for Yahoo! Search’s new open developer platform, SearchMonkey, as well as other metacrawlers and semantic applications. To learn more about the Calais Marmoset tool, go to OpenCalais.com/Tools (http://www.OpenCalais.com/Tools).

The Calais Tagaroo plugin makes it easy for WordPress bloggers to tag the people, places, facts and events in their blog posts and add relevant photos from Flickr to increase their blogs’ visual appeal and accessibility on the Web. Tagaroo works in the background while bloggers write, automatically generating tags and finding related photos for selection, sizing and insertion via an easy-to-use interface.

In related news, Thomson Reuters teamed with Phase2Technology to create three Calais modules for integration with Drupal, an increasingly popular open source content management platform that supports a variety of Web sites, from blogs to large publishers and interactive communities (http://drupal.org/). The Calais modules for Drupal (at http://drupal.org/project/opencalais) make it easy for Drupal users to automatically tag their content, generating rich semantic metadata that can be shared via a simple key for integration into the larger content universe.

Finally, the Calais Web site at http://www.OpenCalais.com has been re-launched and redesigned to reflect the new Thomson Reuters brand architecture, and to support a dramatic upgrade in Calais community features. Viewzi Reinvents Site Search For Bloggers with Release of Viewzi for Publishers

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) November 17, 2008

Before today blog owners couldn’t do much about the dull search results page on their blog. When installing site search on their websites or blogs, site owners are left with the typical, bland white background with blue or black text search results they’ve come to settle for from the “premier” site search solutions.

Now, thanks to Viewzi’s new Viewzi For Publishers blog site search plugin, that old boring search results page will no longer be as bland as it has been in the past. Moreover, video blogs and photo blogs can have search results pages that finally do justice to their rich-media based site when they power their website search with Viewzi For Publishers.

What is Viewzi For Publishers?

Viewzi for Publishers (VFP) is a plugin that adds a Viewzi powered search results ‘page’ to a blog or site but does not replace the original search functionality of the blog engine.

Blog View:

The default view is the Blog View. This blog view displays the results of a search within the blog posts and comments. The results can be displayed as posts and comments or can be split into only blog posts or only comments. The date and time of the post or comment is displayed in the results to help the searcher with easily identifiable visual cues.

Blog Photo View:

The second view, the Blog Photo View, displays thumbnails of Flickr, SmugMug or Picassa photos related to the users search. Support for Photobucket and MySpace is being considered for a future version of VFP.

Blog Video View:

The Blog Video View displays screens shots of blog/search-related videos from the blog owner’s YouTube or Viddler account. Joost is suported in this view as well in the event that the blogger or site owner would prefer Joost content to be shown in the Blog Video View. Support for Vimeo, MySpace Video and Google Video is in the planning stages.

Blog Timeline View:

Finally, the brand new Blog Timeline View displays search results from blog posts and comments in a chronologically ordered manner. By rolling over the item on the timeline, the user can get a quick snippet of text from the post or comment in question. Additionally the number of reader comments per blog post are visually represented by a semi-transparent circle located next to each result in the timeline.

Available Now:

Viewzi for Publishers is available today for free as a plugin for Habari and WordPress. Moveable Type and Drupal plugins are being developed now with Blogger, TextPattern and tumblr plugins to follow.

Seeing is believing. Go ahead and try Viewzi For Publishers. Search for something on one of these sites for a test drive:

New Membership Site Building Software Helps Publishers Manage Paid Access to Time Sensitive Information, Market Alerts and Breaking News

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2010

MemberWing Systems, based in Ontario, Canada is a developer of WEB applications and solutions for online e-commerce.

One of MemberWing’s leading products: WordPress membership plugin MemberWing-X allows professionals to quickly launch new or convert existing websites to fully featured membership portals in minutes and monetize access to premium articles and pages.

With clients in more than 30 countries worldwide, MemberWing-X gives publishers flexibility to sell access to premium pages individually or in groups, for a single fee or by recurring subscription.

Powered by the world’s most popular content management system, WordPress membership plugin MemberWing-X makes it easy to launch premium online newspapers, educational portals or powerful multifunctional membership sites.

With more than 30 million websites using WordPress as their publishing system of choice worldwide – MemberWing Systems’ membership site software targets the world largest market for premium information delivery.

With support for unlimited membership levels MemberWing-X offers powerful capabilities to create and manage multiple ways to sell and manage access to premium content for different types of users.

In today’s fast paced world – traditional membership and subscription access model does not take into account an extra time value that certain classes of information might carry.

Trading alerts, emerging trends reports, investment opportunity publications, stock market newsletters, hot real-estate listings, securities advisories and warnings – these types of information are the most valuable at the time of publishing.

Delayed access to such information could mean lost opportunity or lost money. To take advantage of many opportunities requires speedy access to data while casual observer will be satisfied with more or less delayed access.

Most commercial membership management software products does not offer any ability to create different access levels based on speedy access to time sensitive data.

With the release of MemberWing-X TSI (Time Sensitive Information) Edition Memberwing Systems introduced new dimension to monetize online information based on it’s time value as well as on it’s freshness.

When the value of information is at the highest level at the moment of it’s release – MemberWing-X TSI allows publishers to define an extra set of access restriction rules based on the freshness factor.

With MemberWing-X TSI Edition it is now possible to offer delayed access to time sensitive content for lower membership levels and faster or realtime access for higher level members.

These time-sensitive functions work fully automatically and time is calculated from the article publish date.

Additionally to all that, MemberWing-X TSI functions serve as a strong catalyst to build stronger membership base. Giving interested people means to access important information faster works well as an online marketing and sales tool by itself.

Time Sensitive Information delivery logic brings extra SEO benefits to your website. It is possible to setup premium pages in the way that after time value period expires – these articles will automatically become available to free users and search engines to index. This way “expired” information can be used to boost organic ranking position of any membership portal.

“True support for time sensitive and urgent information delivery, extra marketing powers and SEO benefits are all included into the latest edition of MemberWing-X TSI software. The best part is that it all works automatically.” says Gleb Esman, Chief Architect of MemberWing Systems.

With advanced support for managed access to time-sensitive information MemberWing-X TSI Edition is a perfect tool for building flexible, subscription based websites for professionals.

Investment and securities industry advisors, trading experts, real estate professionals, research analysts, strategists and news agencies who deliver valuable, time critical information via subscription based online portals will greatly benefit from capabilities offered by the latest release of MemberWing-X TSI Software from MemberWing Systems.

Mobile app Market Follows Trend of Turning Away From High-Cost Publishers to Automated Development

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 27, 2012

The mobile app development market, once projected to top out at $ 100 billion/year, may hit a plateau by the end of 2013 due to new and inexpensive app creation software, known as app builders. Online, mobile app builders such as AppGenerate and Sweb Apps have substantially reduced the high development costs of mobile apps, with some analysts predicting the average price to drop to $ 600 per application; which would roughly mirror the price decline in the website development market between 2004-2006, after the proliferation of the popular website builder, WordPress.

This new software allows users with no IT experience to develop mobile applications, which would otherwise have to be written in complex, programming languages. There are currently 2.3 billion, activated smartphones in the world and mobile applications account for nearly 84% of total use time for these devices.

The app industry is just under 6 years old and critical pricing information (such as Apples App Store requirements) is not easily accessed. Subsequently, the market has long refused to conform to traditional economic modeling and it was impossible for the average consumer to know how much labor programmers required to complete their requests for development. Prices varied wildly, with an estimated $ 87.4 billion lost in revenue amongst 98,400 firms from 2008-2011 due to inflated pricing. Popular online freelancing site, oDesk, reported their community of 70,000 app developers (13,000 of which are based in the US) estimate an average of 45-540 hours of labor for mobile app proposals, the largest such estimate range on the site; nearly 17 times larger than the average estimate range for website development projects.

The recent proliferation of app building software underpins a suspicion that a once-promising market may now suddenly contract. MBA students at the Wharton School of Business recently published a paper predicting that automations in the mobile app space will lead to a loss of revenue and jobs for firms offering app development services, especially in the West and Northeast regions of the US. Cities that are expected to be hit the hardest are San Francisco, San Jose, and Boulder. It is estimated that US firms will shed 3.4% of their app developer positions between 2013-2015.

GameZBoost, Social Gaming Solutions for Publishers

(PRWEB) October 29, 2011

Finally, a social gaming solution that gives publishers a full-featured social gaming platform for their web properties. The GameZBoost platform is one of SkillPod Medias new products, aimed at bringing our full-featured social games platform to the global publisher market.

“This solution is primarily targeted at the small to medium sized websites, portals, blogs, and essentially anyone that has a website and is looking to offer games,” says Mark van Diggelen CEO of SkillPod Media. “Weve created a self service product that benefits from 6 years of development.”

The SkillPod engineers have been building the full featured premium social and casual games solution which is already being used by many of the top global publishers. Current deployments include successful social and casual games offerings in Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, UAE, UK and South Africa. We are rapidly increasing our presence with agreements currently being concluded with a number of large publishers in Croatia, Australia, India, USA and Brazil, adds van Diggelen.

Essentially the solution allows publishers to register online (http://www.GameZBoost.com), upload their site logos, analytics tracking and banner scripts. The site, and over 60 games (new titles are being added weekly), can be translated to any language that the publisher chooses. This is managed through a simple web interface, detailed user manuals are available for all the features of the platform, giving publishers direct access to translate the site and games in real-time.

The platform has even been setup to cater for the Arabic language, and its unique formatting, and will adjust the site to read from right to left should the publisher elect to translate the site to Arabic. The site design can be customised from a selection of standard templates or the publishers can customise the colour schemes, textures, backgrounds, etc from within the interface, thus allowing publishers to create a unique look and feel for their sites. Alternatively, should the publishers wish to have a completely customised and unique look and feel for their games site, they can opt for the premium services on offer. Many of the larger publishers have opted for this option.

Publishers can either setup and configure the platform themselves or pay a nominal, once off fee for the SkillPod engineers to assist them. Other value adds that publishers can elect to contract SkillPod to integrate include; single sign-on (SSO) integration, Facebook and Twitter Integration, local payment gateway providers, publishers can even request that SkillPod load existing game titles that they may have developed or sourced to the platform and publish them exclusively to the publishers portal. SkillPod has developed a number of APIs and makes them available to 3rd party game developers, who can request and integrate these APIs into their games for publishing across the global network of SkillPod game publishers portals. The platform can either be hosted on the publishers hosting environment or they can opt for the site to be hosted on the SkillPod server infrastructure, which makes use of the Rackspace managed and Cloud solutions.

The platform is built on the following 3 core principles: Personalisation, Customisation and Monetisation, the latter being an important element for publishers. Publishers earn a significant share of the top-up revenues and retain all revenues from the advertising income derived from the banners they load across the site. Banners sizes include 728×90, 120×600, 160×600, 300×160 and 468×60. SkillPod generates revenues from the pre-roll ads that it serves, this equates to a very fair business model for the publishers and SkillPod alike, as both parties receive equal exposure across the offering, confirms van Diggelen. A number of other revenue earning opportunities are available across the platform, these include site take-overs, podium sponsorship, tournament sponsorship and avatar merchandise and background sponsorship, and publishers earn 100% of these revenues.

The social games platform features over 700 game titles, live high score leaderboards, ability for users to create and pimp avatars, challenge friends, set public contests and enter tournaments. Users can build friends list, message their friends and send them virtual gifts. Many of these features are fully integrated into the micro payments platform, users have a number of options to top-up their accounts, and these include: PayPal and Moneybookers (Skrill). Users spend their virtual currency when they enter tournaments, setting wager amounts when they challenge friends, when pimping their avatars and when sending virtual gifts to friends. Additionally, users can unlock in-game power-ups with their virtual currency already available in many of the top games and they can even customise games, which can be saved and played by their group of friends.

The new solution has been in beta testing for the past week and has already received registrations from Dubai, USA, Portugal, Gibraltar, Philippines, Turkey, France, Reunion and a number of other territories. SkillPod is very excited about this new product and will continue enhancing it by adding the SkillPod Facebook games framework to it, as well as their new mobile web games solution. In the near future theyll be adding plugins for WordPress to the GameZBoost offering.

This new offering dovetails in with our overall strategy of providing world class social and casual gaming solutions to publishers across the globe, allowing smaller publishers that have the potential to grow into significant players in their markets to present a full featured games offering to their users. Well focus on partnering with all publishers and working with them to ensure that their games offering appeals to the users and makes business sense. The first of these new features will be the introduction of the new multi player lobby, which has a strong emphasis on social interaction. The new module will be available within the next 2 weeks. SkillPod can assure publishers that theyll be working to add new features and are in the final stages of concluding agreements with some of the top 3rd party game developers, who will be making their premium titles available to our publishing partners, concludes van Diggelen.
